Ivan Katalinic's 'tache Posted 18 September, 2011 Share Posted 18 September, 2011 ...what does he need to do to achieve legendary status at SMS? Return us to the Prem? Win a 'proper' trophy? Cancel the ticket tax? Or does he already have it after persuading Markus to save us? Thoughts anyone?

Crab Lungs Posted 18 September, 2011 Share Posted 18 September, 2011 Cortese just isn't right for us. He's too big-headed, arrogant and domineering. He won't have a fan's forum because he knows we've got a huge intellectual fanbase who would outsmart him at every turn. He only holds these little dinners for season ticket holders so that he can dominate the weak and get them onside. In fact, this a huge SFC psyops conducted by him but we're only seeing small snippets (car park charges, programme front covers etc). He's dumbing us down, not giving us the full picture and it'll be too late before we piece together all the small jigsaw pieces and realise what's happening to our club. By then, he'll have us paying £20 per game for parking. I've had enough of this - we should have seen the warning signs when he put himself on the cover of the programme. Where is Richard Chorley when you need him?
RobM Posted 18 September, 2011 Share Posted 18 September, 2011 do not want a CEO to ever gain legendary status' date=' football is on the pitch not Board room[/quote'] But without the business decisions in the board room, there would be not football and no pitch to play it on. I'm not sure I will ever consider NC a legend, but he has become one of the most important people in our clubs history. Convincing Marcus to buy us, making the right - if not popular - decisions and guiding us to where we are now, from the top.

I'm all for healthy, constructive criticism but nonsensical bedwetting is bit OTT for me. Our traditional relegation battles were in the top flight, so in fairness we are still looking up, and in till we are top of the Premiership we will continue to look up!! Yes the club is stable and i'm loving seeing us TOP of the league but, that does not mean we cannot question Cortesse. Car park charges, ticket tax, on-line tax, last years withdrawal of the instalment plan, banning the press, becoming "southcoast club" no fans forum etc etc etc, we are customers and no matter what you say, in any other industry the customer would revolt!!!! braveheart1983 Posted 18 September, 2011 Share Posted 18 September, 2011 Cortese deserves far, FAR more praise than he gets. He's in my opinion been the single biggest factor of our success. He's ultimately the one that guides the ship, hiring Adkins, negotiating only the best transfer deals, putting professional standards into place from the top down. I believe people don't recognise the significance of this man and his positive influence in the football club. People say he's ruthless.....that's exactly what a strong leader needs to be at times. I respect and back his decisions 100%, the evidence is clear to back this up. It's really time we recognise his contribution to turning this great club around, because without him I highly doubt we'd be where we are.
RobM Posted 18 September, 2011 Share Posted 18 September, 2011 Hang on, have we not just lost Chamberlane??? That was a stroke of genius! To get that much cash for a player who didn't play that much in League 1 and not at all in the Championship was superb. We didn't miss him when he was out, we didn't need him at the start of this season, so I wouldn't say we lost him, but we certainly sold him for a superb amount of money.
