saintscottofthenortham Posted 18 September, 2011 Share Posted 18 September, 2011 Talk to me. Where and why? Anyone a fitter? Fitted carpet in the youngests room myself, happy with the finish, eldests room is bigger, bottling it a bit and think I might part with some money to get someone in who knows what there doing. Room is roughly 5m x 3.5m. What's the going rate...? Any help would be appreciated.

Dimond Geezer Posted 18 September, 2011 Share Posted 18 September, 2011 Probably not as much as you thing. We've paid more than about £35-40 to have a standard room (not landing or stairs) carpeted. They are bloody quick as well, never taken more tha 30 mins.
Dr Who? Posted 18 September, 2011 Share Posted 18 September, 2011 Would only fit a wooden floor, as there is more room for error, as with carpet one false move and you have cost yourself a lot of money!!!

True, I just took my time. Took me a good hour & half which if a carpet fitter saw the room he would probably crack ip at but it looks and feels good. Gonna be looking for some real wood flooring aswell if anyone knows a good place for that...? Other than B&Q and their rape prices.

We've got it in our sitting room - nicer than laminate but not as expensive as real wood.
