dubai_phil Posted 17 September, 2011 Share Posted 17 September, 2011 We've not had much in the way of Eng V India threads this back end of the summer, the effort of the Indians really didn't warrant the effort of typing something. But the new kid last night? Wow. What a knock? (as Bumble would say). Composed, controlled and calm, 40 off 21 balls. From the 5th ball of his innings into the crowd to the two into the river, to his running between the wickets. As International debuts go in any sport it was pretty damned impressive. Hope he can "take it on from here". Oh and of course well done to England, you can only beat what is in front of you, but it will no doubt have made UK Curry nights or Dubai Taxi rides much more fun for the next month or so. markr27 Posted 17 September, 2011 Share Posted 17 September, 2011 Was brilliant to watch! The wicketkeeping slot in the England 1-day arena is suddenly very competitive - with Kieswetter suddenly having Bairstow, Jos Buttler, Steven Davies and even Prior breathing down his neck. I think Bairstow will be in the side for the two Twenty20 games next week for sure.
