offix Posted 15 September, 2011 Share Posted 15 September, 2011 That is a strange question: Surely any Saints fan would like to see them smash ANY team we play against at any time?
bender Posted 15 September, 2011 Share Posted 15 September, 2011 Brighton for me as father is a fan and for me. 3 x brothers are fans and many of my chums. Add that to the fact they suddently think theyre a national force and are the club of the south
TheCholulaKid Posted 15 September, 2011 Share Posted 15 September, 2011 Another vote for Brighton. And Coventry - half the kids I teach support them and know I'm a Saints fan. So, I'll get it if we lose. Also, some ****er tried to stab me there at a game in the early 90s. Nothing comes close to Pompey though.
doddisalegend Posted 15 September, 2011 Author Share Posted 15 September, 2011 That is a strange question: Surely any Saints fan would like to see them smash ANY team we play against at any time? Naturally but I was trying to find out what teams people have taken a dislike to other than pompey. For example if we played Wallsall tommorrow I'd want saints to win (of course) but I have no particular bad feelings towards them. On the other hand after the two seasons in league one I have a strong dislike of Swindon and want saints not just to beat them but humiliate them (like we did in the carling cup the other week)

Farnboro Saint Posted 15 September, 2011 Share Posted 15 September, 2011 Top 3 easy...Derby cause of the fans! Blackpool and Brighton cause of the managers! And it's about bloody time we put 3 past man u in the cup...but at their place for a change.
Quickfire Double Posted 16 September, 2011 Share Posted 16 September, 2011 Besides Pompey for this season: League: Brighton: I'd actually not mind, living near there, to see them do alright - one place behind us would be great. But a league double's required to put their manager and a section of their fanbase back in their box. West Ham: punish their apparent **** or bust approach to gaining promotion, and mindful of a link on here a while back (when we were ludicrously linked to Boa Morte) where an ill-advised Hammers blogger referred to us as "cash-strapped Southampton" and tried to justify it, badly, when corrected. Palace: I know a few Palace, working in Croydon as I do. I'll need a win to prevent my copping the almighty big'un. And there's always something strangely satisfying about an away win @ Dellhurst Park... Blackpool and Burnley: assuming their current managers remain in situ. Cup: an FA cup run that starts with us whacking a rugby score past Bompey at theirs, and ends with a cagey 1-0 win over Arsenal via wins v Liverpool and Spurs will do me nicely! Danny R Posted 16 September, 2011 Share Posted 16 September, 2011 Oh yeah??!! I can't see the vid...hopefully FA cup semi final win. However, I was living in Southampton then. Since I moved up north to Hertfordshire: Watford 5-2 Saints Watford 3-0 Saints Saints 1-3 Watford Watford 3-2 Saints (Saints 2-1 up with 7 mins to go) Saints 0-3 Watford Saints 0-3 Watford (missed 2 pens) Watford 2-2 Saints (JPS last minute. Same day as going into admin ?!? was certainly around this date) This coupled with the fact that all the Mrs family support Watford, it is deffo them for me. Neil Posted 17 September, 2011 Share Posted 17 September, 2011 Want to absolutely smash Brighton to pieces. Will be especially nice to smash them at their new place, with more watching this time! Still hate Derby with a passion, would be sweet to win at Pride Park and erase a few nightmares from the past. Funnily enough I was over the moon to win at Swindon, just to erase some memories of previous visits there.
mitch01 Posted 17 September, 2011 Share Posted 17 September, 2011 A few years ago I would have said Derby, but since Clough has taken over I have developed a soft spot for them, they have built up a squad, had a few tough years but now they seem to be getting their rewards. Now, Pompey and Brighton are top of my list.
