Your own 'you know nothing about football' posts

I'm relatively new to the forum, not new to Saints. Seems like a bit of history between some posters and much point scoring off each other.

Lots of very intelligent knowledgeable posters although many arrogant aggressive disrespectful types as well. I'd probably put myself more towards the latter mind.

With so many 'you clearly know nothing about football........' responses as would expect on a forum but football being what it is no one gets it right everytime and even top managers make clangers. Anyone remember Mourinho - "why would we ned to sign Wayne Rooney wwhen we have declining to make a move for around £25mill when he left Everton.

Was wondering if anyone want to remind us of their own posts that in hindsight have turned out stupid.

You freely admit you feel you're an "arrogant, aggressive, disrespectful" type? lol

I said at the start of the season Andy Carroll would be top scorer in the Premiership.

While we're in confession mode, I remember telling a mate "no, we've been in the top flight 27 years. We always scrape out of these relegation fights and this seasons no different...."

ffs

I got into a drunken bet with my Liverpool-supporting mate just before the start of the season; I told him that Kevin Doyle would score more league goals than Caroll and bet him £50 :uhoh:

To be fair, I'm winning 1-0 at the moment :o

Not a forum post, but a continual moan that I thought Shearer missed too many one on ones and was overrated :blush::blush::blush:

(My defence was in his earlier years he didn't score that regularly!!!!!!!!!).

In our Champ relegation season, I saw a photo of Michael Svensson winning a towering header in a pre season warm-up (against Celtic I think) and wisely commented "don't worry we'll be alright".

Just call me the Oracle.

Btw bit disappointed this thread has only 14 replies. Come on TSW regulars you ALL have made yourself look an arse at some point. Fess up, its carthartic!

there are ooodles of utterly daft posts over the years..

players dont play for adkins

adkins out (after 1 defeat)

we will finish 17th this season

we are the best club outside of the top 4

we should expand the stadium now to 45k....as man got to the top of everest

Watching Saints rip Birmingahm apart early season whilst under Portvielt and saying we could be an outside bet for promotion...

I remember that game, I also saw the Derby game and said after that we'd be no where near relegation, so ''no worries''

Whops.

Did you predict that Speedie and Dixon would score more than him?

Yeah and that game. We made a good start and I think we all felt kind of refreshed that our ''Kids'' looked like the real deal. Unfortunately and unsurprisingly they needed a bit of help as we got into the nitty-gritty of the season, but it didn't come.

League One, first season - "As much as you ridicule him, I reckon Pulis will play at least 20 games this season. " I'm not going through my post history but it's in there. Think I said it just before the takeover.

APs first season we had a midfield crisis (injury, suspension etc) I made a post suggesting playing Mills at LB and moving Harding into Midfield (as a temperory solution). Got chewed out by the forum experts that no manager worth his salt would play a defender in mid field or vice-verse they had a point......

not really...able to laugh at myself..

A shame others aren't really. I'm all for putting my neck on the line and making a prediction; I'm also more than willing to have it rubbed in my face if I get it hopelessly wrong.

I'm with Saints67 above, when Burley was appointed manager I was absolutely delighted. That worked out well....

Didn't have to look too far back in my own.... Scared to delve deeper now :D "Fully expect Brum to win the league, as they have a Europa place they're unlikely to lose any apart form their best 2 or 3 players and that money coupled with the parachutes I expect to be invested immediately to achieve promotion to the prem. If they don't go up this season however they won't be nearly as intimidating next year."

To be honest I have far more confidence in the future of Saints since Lowe returned and I suspect that the banks have a similar view. I also have a lot more confidence in JP who I find inspirational... ."

Oh sh*t.....

Not sure I ever posted it on here, but I remember being gutted when SISU fell through and they ended up going for Coventry instead...

I also remember confidently predicting to a mate that the Dutch Experiment playing the kids would see us playing like Arsenal and being a joy to watch

I thought Burley was a good coup, but I was also excited about the double dutch that almost happened at the same time. I thought Woodward was a good idea and I backed the Wilde chairmanship. I thought Scott MacDonald was going to be a big goal scorer for us and I also told my mate that Peter Taylor will be the next Man U manager (I still could be right on that one I guess).
