CFSFC Posted 11 September, 2011 Posted 11 September, 2011 If Saints had one chance against Pompey in the playoff final 5 mins to go who would you want that chance to fall to Connelly or Lambert?? Follows on from a discussion i had in the boozer yesterday.... I'll start, Lambert every day of the week never seems to miss chances technically better.. i was alone in my thoughts and couldn't quite beleive it.
Thedelldays Posted 11 September, 2011 Posted 11 September, 2011 lambert... I think that put through 1-on-1 etc rickie is yer-man however, instictive, reactionary poacher type of goal, then the little irish fella is a better bet
CFSFC Posted 11 September, 2011 Author Posted 11 September, 2011 lambert... I think that put through 1-on-1 etc rickie is yer-man however, instictive, reactionary poacher type of goal, then the little irish fella is a better bet Id still have Lambert.
K,Billy's supersound Posted 11 September, 2011 Posted 11 September, 2011 neither, i want it to fall to morgan its his destiny.
Bentley Posted 11 September, 2011 Posted 11 September, 2011 Lambert. It helps because Connolly missed a 1-on-1 yesterday.
skintsaint Posted 11 September, 2011 Posted 11 September, 2011 Connelly...Althought Lambert scored a hattrick yesterday he did miss a lot of sitters last season iirc.
DJ_TOAST Posted 11 September, 2011 Posted 11 September, 2011 these kinda threads bore me what if bla blah something something then who/what which is never going to happen
skintsaint Posted 11 September, 2011 Posted 11 September, 2011 these kinda threads bore me what if bla blah something something then who/what which is never going to happen Yeah you're right...as if Pompey would make the playoffs..
stkev7 Posted 11 September, 2011 Posted 11 September, 2011 I'd go with the Irishman but for the pure mad celebration I'd want Lambert to stick it away, he would give the Skates a load of grief as well.
Saint Stimp Posted 11 September, 2011 Posted 11 September, 2011 I want them to both swing for it, hitting the ball at the exact same moment creating a strike with a kind of power never before witnessed by man.
paulwantsapint Posted 11 September, 2011 Posted 11 September, 2011 For pure drama could we have DC hacked down 25-30 yards out in last min of injury time Because we all know Rickie would put the ball in the back of net
Matthew Le God Posted 11 September, 2011 Posted 11 September, 2011 If David Connolly doesn't like the "back from the dead" song, I'm sure he won't like a large number of Saints fans calling him David Connelly. Same with Dan Seaborne and those calling him Seabourne.
gjphilsaint Posted 11 September, 2011 Posted 11 September, 2011 Cometh the hour.. cometh the man..... fate will decide and escalate that person to HERO!!! Qv: Bobby Stokes "an unlikely hero"?
Ohio Saint Posted 11 September, 2011 Posted 11 September, 2011 An own goal by a Poopey defender, please.
Dr Who? Posted 11 September, 2011 Posted 11 September, 2011 (edited) Connolly. Edited 12 September, 2011 by Dr Who?
Saint_Jimbo83 Posted 11 September, 2011 Posted 11 September, 2011 Connelly only lasts 70 mins, so it has to be Lambert, purely as he will still be on the pitch. If he could last the full 90, I would still go for Rickie
SNSUN Posted 11 September, 2011 Posted 11 September, 2011 Of the two, it has to be Lambert, although if anyone in the team could have the chance, I'd have to say Lallana.
St Chalet Posted 11 September, 2011 Posted 11 September, 2011 I'd have to say Lambert, too much risk of someone spelling Connolly's name wrong on an internet forum.
VectisSaint Posted 12 September, 2011 Posted 12 September, 2011 If Saints had one chance against Pompey in the playoff final 5 mins to go who would you want that chance to fall to Connelly or Lambert?? Follows on from a discussion i had in the boozer yesterday.... I'll start, Lambert every day of the week never seems to miss chances technically better.. i was alone in my thoughts and couldn't quite beleive it. What a crazy "what if". We will never meet Pompey in the play-off final. They will never get in the play-offs and we will be promoted automatically. But if it did happen either would be fine. RL missed a sitter against Swindon so they are both fallible, but against Pompey they would both equally step up to the mark.
for_heaven's_Saint Posted 12 September, 2011 Posted 12 September, 2011 Lambert. Surprised people say Lallana. Brilliant as he is, his finishing isn't consistently up to the standard of the rest of his game.
Golden Balls Posted 12 September, 2011 Posted 12 September, 2011 Lambert. Although if I had to pick someone to SCORE, it would be Lallana. Local lad whos been at the club for years and was here at our lowest moment.
Hatch Posted 12 September, 2011 Posted 12 September, 2011 Lambert, so in the act of shooting (and scoring ) he can make sure his boot also smashes into the skates keepers face.
Turkish Posted 12 September, 2011 Posted 12 September, 2011 these kinda threads bore me what if bla blah something something then who/what which is never going to happen Why post on it then? It's quite clear from the OP what it is about. Why do you feel the need to tell everyone that you aren't interested in the thread?
(not THE) Kevin Moore Posted 12 September, 2011 Posted 12 September, 2011 I thought this thread was going to be about how many chances we give new signings before we write them off as rubbish....
CFSFC Posted 12 September, 2011 Author Posted 12 September, 2011 Why post on it then? It's quite clear from the OP what it is about. Why do you feel the need to tell everyone that you aren't interested in the thread? Because he is quite clearly an idiot.....
Micky Posted 12 September, 2011 Posted 12 September, 2011 Dead easy decission, Connobert for me please...!!!
jjsaint Posted 12 September, 2011 Posted 12 September, 2011 Seaborne, making his first appearance since August, on as an 84th minute sub, first touch of the ball.
del boy Posted 12 September, 2011 Posted 12 September, 2011 Connolly, unless it was about 8ft off the ground
