brilliant game of football in general

deffo no penalty

we let ourselves down at times defensively

forest are a good side

this was a great win

changed the formation 3 times during the game and it workd

credit to players never give up

we are now a very exciting team

we are a threat from all over the park

was expecting "moments" at the back with the new back 4 today

injuries forced the defensive changes, nothing major...frazer was very close to playing adkins said no and did not risk him

good squad of players

hoiveld had a good performance considering he has hardly played and did well again a very good front two (for forest)

forest are a god side and good sides will have chances and score goals.

changed shape again at 2-2 and it worked then changed it again to close the game out

great entertainment

I disagree with point 2 - I was sat in Block 4 right in front of the incident with Kelvin and it definitely looked like he made contact with Derbyshire. If it were the other way round we would have been screaming at the ref..

The question should be, why does Kelvin keep p*ssing around with the ball at his feet, get rid of the ball quicker and stop these pathetic goal kicks to centre backs with attackers 3 yards away from them. It will end in a major c*ck up soon, well it happened yesterday but we were fortunate this time.

Kelvin keeps ****ing around with the ball at his feet as you put it because that is what he has been told to do. Previously he used to lump it upfield and hope that Rickie could hold it up. 7 times out of 10 the ball goes to opposition and they come straight back at us, which is far worse. It is about possession, and you ned to get used to it because that is our game now. I would prefer to see Kelvin rolling out to the right or left backs a bit more as an option but frankly very pleased that he is no longer lumping it up to Rickie every time.

With our Kelv kicking it the ball can go anywhere and if it went in Rickies direction it was often 20 feet above his head

I fully agree lets play out from the back, but you have to mix it otherwise the opposition stand off and give you a few yards then pounce as soon as the ball is passed because they know where its going. Its not difficult to mix it up with the odd long ball then play it short..

Which we did.

I agree with what you are saying but do not feel it's Kelvin you should be moaning at, this is obviously a directive from NA. I like NA 'total football' philosophy, in theory, but it was plane yesterday that sometimes there is a need to hoooooooooooof it!

Jack Cork @ right back, massive error in my opinion, kept getting pulled out of position, and it was from his side both goals came from, also, again only in my opinion we missed him massively in the middle. Feel NA got away with it yesterday!!

But again, as people are saying, who would you play there? Harding out, Richardson out, Butterfield out etc...

Dickson and Martin were on the bench, either of them would have done imo, if Dickson wasn't fit to play he wasn't fit to play! Martin is a right footed defender!! All I'm saying is, Cork didn't work @ right back, and more importantly we missed him massively in the middle, all obviously in my opinion!

The problem was at Leicester Cork went to RB in the second half and we dominated the game. Leicester had no threat on the left - so Cork didn't have too much defending to do. I personally think we played too deep in the second half - and invited Forest on to us. Not sure Fox is a natural left back - Harding looks far more compitent to me, cetainly better defending. The big Dutch lad looks pretty solid, reads the game well but looks short of match fitness at the intensity we play at. Sure he and Fonte will form a decent partnership - but with Fonte trying to cover for Cork as well - we looked really stretched at times. I expect a lot will be resolved on the training ground.

Delighted with the result - and the speed which we counter attack. The second goal scored by Lambert yesterday was fantastic. Only trouble is the BBC show if from the cross - but the build up prior to that was brilliant.

Adkins is right - but the character we show with people playing out of position is great. We have a couple of decent players in importnat positions - someone mentioned the spine of the team. From Davis through Fonte, Hammond to Lambert - and who can forget Lallana & Cork? Chaplow made a big difference when he came on - and Guly is great going forward but tries his best to support the RB.

All in all a great days entertainment - bring on the Brummie's...let's just hope they struggle for one more week and we make it 13 on the bounce at SMS.

Come on. There's a big difference between encouraging passing out to defenders in space and kelvin not using any common sense and making countless passes to defenders under pressure. He should have gone long with forest strikers pushed up so high and he nearly cost us.

If defenders are in space, pass it, if not, safety first.

It's not rocket science, it's this. ^

Its all very well for Adkins to praise a great game of football, but I doubt if he'd be saying that if one of Forest's chances had gone in and Rickie's 3rd goal hadn't. He only acknowledged that it was a scratch back four under questioning and he might have done better not to try to put the gloss on it. Cork is great in midfield but he's a poor RB and was responsible for allowing the cross for their first goal. Hooiveld and Fox were both at fault on allowing Derbyshire to tap the cross into the net, Hooiveld the main culprit looking more like a statue. Apart from him being left-footed, I can't see that he's better than Martin and with Seaborne out for a long time a loan looks crucial. Adkins did say that Richardson and Harding were out due to minor injuries but he didn't mention Butterfield and much as he wants to play Schneiderlin it shouldn't be done at the expense of a weakening the defence.

I feel we were fortunate to get that result but I think Adkins will have taken the lessons on board more than his interview might suggest.

I stopped right there...as it never happened and adkins was praising what just went before him

Agreed, but unfortunately I suspect Kelvin is not blessed with a huge amount of what you might call common sense. He is a great shot stopper, no doubt, but his distribution has always been **** (if it wasn't he would probably be playing regular in the Prem), and he is clearly now under orders to play short whenever possible. Actually after I posted I watched the highlights from Forest's player, and note that for the 2nd goal (I think) KD did actually roll the ball out to Cork who set up the goal down the right. Still, we will continue to play it short most of the time, and we should get used to it, on balance it is more often than not the better option, especially when possession is the primary aim.
