georgeismyname Posted 10 September, 2011 Share Posted 10 September, 2011 Am I the only one who thought that Rickie was offside when Lallana (I think) flicked it on to him for our 2nd goal?? Lino seemed to think about it for a couple of seconds too
hypochondriac Posted 10 September, 2011 Share Posted 10 September, 2011 On the reaction thread you can see the goals where Lambert is clearly onside.
Saint_clark Posted 10 September, 2011 Share Posted 10 September, 2011 No, he was clearly onside. It may have seemed offside due to the length of time the ball took to drop out the air.
Big_Bald_Si Posted 10 September, 2011 Share Posted 10 September, 2011 Lambert is also far too slow to put himself in a position where he might be considered offside
Saint_clark Posted 10 September, 2011 Share Posted 10 September, 2011 Whilst on the subject though, their first looked a tad offside.
ohwhenthesaints Posted 10 September, 2011 Share Posted 10 September, 2011 I thought Connolly was offside when he received the ball on the right wing for the second goal...
Tony F Posted 10 September, 2011 Share Posted 10 September, 2011 I think it was close but just on. Talking of which we must have had about 10 offsides against us today - and I can't remember one from Forest. Which probably indicates that our defence wasn't too sharp (to catch out Forest) - not necessarily a surprise with so many new faces in there - but likewise indicates that our midfielders and attackers were being well marshalled by Forest. Must do better, in my view. Don't forget, if Adam had managed his offside better today his goal would have stood and the result could have been secured with greater ease (and less squeaky bum time for us all!). Saint_clark Posted 10 September, 2011 Share Posted 10 September, 2011 A fair few of our offsides were once Hammond switched to right mid and he was playing in a much more advanced role. He's used to running from deep, so it's fair enough that he'd lose concentration on where the defence is every now and then.
georgeismyname Posted 10 September, 2011 Author Share Posted 10 September, 2011 I thought Connolly was offside when he received the ball on the right wing for the second goal... Yes, I thought that too and that our goal was offside twice, but I take it back that Lambert was offside after seeing the video on the reaction thread
Saint137 Posted 10 September, 2011 Share Posted 10 September, 2011 Connolly looked offside from where I was in the Northam but he always seems to play very tight (must have been called off 4 or 5 times today). Pleased we got away with that one...
saint_jas Posted 10 September, 2011 Share Posted 10 September, 2011 All these decisions add up eventually.... Shame the Leicester 3rd goal from two weeks ago was never seen, or ignored..
Victor Posted 11 September, 2011 Share Posted 11 September, 2011 I thought Connolly was offside when he received the ball on the right wing for the second goal... It is quite OK within the laws of the game to be in an offside position when you receive the ball. HTH
Saint Fan CaM Posted 11 September, 2011 Share Posted 11 September, 2011 He was on-side. HTH
Jack Posted 11 September, 2011 Share Posted 11 September, 2011 He was onside. The lino in front of the Itchen was dreadful yesterday though. Consistantly behind the play, gave some bad decisions for us and them
Matthew Le God Posted 11 September, 2011 Share Posted 11 September, 2011 (edited) No. This image is a split second after Lallana heads it and Lambert is clearly onside... Edited 11 September, 2011 by Matthew Le God
Saint_clark Posted 11 September, 2011 Share Posted 11 September, 2011 Surely the answer to his question should have been "yes", MLG?
