Saints 3 Forest 2 - Reaction

First match I've missed...sounded like we made it hard work for ourselves against a talented side! Phew

Fantastic run of home wins continues....let's not hear too much negativity - to play less than your best and still win is how promotions are won!

On an unrelated tangent...sounds like Mitchell lost it at Bompey.

Thats a good win. I am sure Forest will get it together at some point and when they do they will beat a lot of teams in this division, and sounded like they were better today.

Yes, slight worry about conceding too many, but we won so I am not too fussed right now as we did have a bit of a makeshift back four with a new CB too.

Good win.

With a new CB playing who hasnt played for a while and Cork at RB I think it is a very good result against some quality players. De Ridder at the end sounded very good as well as our new CB.

Well done saints, to win these games shows good charater and fitness. Well done Lambo too

Mixed feelings with this win. Fantastic smash and grab against forest who dominated the entire second half and will feel rightly aggrieved with some of the decisions.

Fox was awful and got done numerous times. New defender was bad too heading straight up in the air. How forest failed to score more than twice I will never know. They were clearly better than us in the second half.

Still we won and lambert was superb. Excellent result and the type we will need if we want to do well.

On my way back now - really poor defensively. Fox refused to play lb, their right winger always had space to cross. Hoovied wasn't great either, and we having cork in the middle. That said, Hammond and lambert were brilliant, and guly and lallana were really good as well. Not sure we deserved it, but got the win, so happy enough - got to sort out the defence though!

Sorry to sound ignorant but apart from Seabourne can someone summarise the injury situation etc with our regular defenders and time scale for when we mght expect them back ?

According to Nigel after the game - Richardson tweaked a hamstring v Swindon and was 50/50 for today, Harding sprained his knee in training. Neither injury sounded too serious

Agree on defensive side, but last 20 mins, we were definitely much much better and looked like scoring again! Fox's deliveried were awesome but the space he gave Gunter was shocking, actually thought Jos had a very encouraging game, couple of moments but who doesn't! almost back to Chris Nicholl days

Really lucky win in all honesty, how they didn't score a couple more is beyond me.

But we dug in and showed the grit and drive which is bred from winning games every week. A winning mentality can make all the difference. So pleased for Lambo, he's shown he can play at this level with no issues at all. 7 goals for him now I think - I reckon he could hit 20 again. If Holt can, then surley Lambo can...

The two flanks got ripped apart most of the game, I'd prefer Corky in midfield but it was forced today unfortunately.

Fox is exactly what Burnley fans said he was, great attacking, fantastic delivery, but always out of position defensively - which is what we saw today. Hopefully Adkins and co can coach a little more defensive nous into him. I'd feel much more comfortable with Harding and Richardson in the full back slots based on today.

Credit to Adkins, I think the tactical switch on the hour put us back in control. Bringing Chaplow in and playing a diamond allowed us to get hold of the ball a bit more, but some of Forest's substitutes beggared belief. Nice to see McGoldrick is still as useless.

Really pleased though, we just don't know how to drop points at home. 12 wins in a row, amazing!!

Let's make it 13....

game of opinions but both Guly and Lallana have defensive duties to which imo they neglected to day, hence Guly was taken off, because both full backs were left totally exposed.

Still we won so who cares, i just do not like defenders being blamed for everything
