farawaysaint Posted 9 September, 2011 Share Posted 9 September, 2011 Come on you bokke! Pumas vs England and Scotland vs Romania tomorrow should be fun to watch. Realistically though I can see the all-blacks walking this one at home even with their terrible tournament record. Australia an outside bet, if they win the Web Ellis trophy in New Zealand the kiwis will never live it down.

Dimond Geezer Posted 12 September, 2011 Share Posted 12 September, 2011 We (England) managed to scrap home, usual England performance, not a lot of flare, but able to grind out a result, only just in this case, but Argentina are no mugs, they're not there just to make the numbers up. I'm expecting a lot better for the remaining group matches & hopefully Jonny will have the right boots on. We've managed to get the first citation of the RWC, Courtney Lawes for kneeing. Junction 9 Posted 24 September, 2011 Share Posted 24 September, 2011 The RWC is popular on here then, 5 posts!!! Much better from England today, hopefully we can take this momentum through to the Scotland game. I'll be there to see it.

JackFrost Posted 24 September, 2011 Share Posted 24 September, 2011 We looked very good against Romania, who let's not forget were about 10 mins away from beating Scotland earlier in the tournament. Still concerns over the amount of penalties we give away though. NZ look like it's their tournament to lose. Wouldn't mind seeing Georgia in the 6 nations (well, 7 nations) in a few years time if they continue their rate of improvement

Saint in Paradise Posted 8 October, 2011 Share Posted 8 October, 2011 (edited) The England-France Rugby World Cup match at Eden Park on Saturday night may have more than 10,000 empty seats unless there's a late rush for tickets. There are about 1000 tickets left for the Ireland-Wales match in Wellington, and about 3500 left for each of Sunday's games - the Australia-South Africa match in Wellington and All Blacks-Argentina match at Eden Park. At those over here who don't believe Rugby is a world minority sport, some think it is a much bigger sport than Football. . shirleysfc Posted 8 October, 2011 Share Posted 8 October, 2011 we must have conceded more penalties than any other team in the quarter finals! Line outs have been terrible too!
Hatch Posted 8 October, 2011 Share Posted 8 October, 2011 The only problem with the England team is that we can't pass , run, tackle or kick. Plus we give away too many penalties, lose too many scrums and lose too many line outs. Apart from that we are OK.

dubai_phil Posted 8 October, 2011 Share Posted 8 October, 2011 This England team brought nothing into the tournament apart from their egos. While they were in it, they added nothing of memorable value to it. Now they go home and the only moment they have given us of entertainment came from pundit Scott Gibbs on our Showtime coverage.... Dan Cole in the scrum? Cheryl Cole would have been better. Risible, glad they are out because, like the Soccer Team, they were an embarrassment and not worth the waste of 2 hours of house cleaning, cooking or even toe nail clipping time on a weekend. Barney Trubble Posted 8 October, 2011 Share Posted 8 October, 2011 I agree with Phil. I don't think we played well in one game, we were so average and we could have got a big beating today if France were particularly good. Wales or Ireland would have kicked our asses anyway. They can go on the **** though now, i'm sure the players will be happy about that.

Kingsland Codger Posted 8 October, 2011 Share Posted 8 October, 2011 All a bit of an embarrassment; can't pass, can't catch and clearly haven't grasped the rules of the game and thoroughly deserved to be knocked-out. As has been noted above by CB Saint - at least we have been spared a thrashing from the Welsh.

As has been noted above by CB Saint - at least we have been spared a thrashing from the Welsh. A normal result, the French were able to free-wheel their way through the meaningless pool stage thanks to the ridiculous defeat of Tonga by Canada. They probably feigned injury as well because..well some of the injuries they were reported to have last Saturday just don't get better in a week. No doubt the French will stun the Welsh as well, the final will therefore probably be a repeat of the 1987 tournament in NZ.

At those over here who don't believe Rugby is a world minority sport, some think it is a much bigger sport than Football. . Just got back from my trip last night. The whole ticket situation was just farcical. We had been planning this trip for 2 years assuming that tickets would be at a premium. My mate who lives in Napier went through various ballots and application systems and we'd thought we'd struck gold when we got tickets for the Scotland group game AND a quater final ticket. How wrong we were, we could have easily got tickets for either game at a fraction of the £200 we paid for each game. Loads of empty seats for the France quater final . The general feeling I got was that the average Kiwi was completely priced out of having any part in this tournament which is a real shame. Apart from that an amazing trip in an amazing country, they couldn't possibly have been more welcoming.
