Monk Posted 7 September, 2011 Share Posted 7 September, 2011 Need some help please. Looking at getting a new lappy but never 100% sure what’s what these days. Basically all I want is a laptop I can play Football Manager efficiently on, browse the web at a decent speed, itunes and a very high resolution/HD screen. Have toyed with the idea of getting a mac but not sure if you can get Microsoft Office on there and if their reliable. Maximum I would spend is around £800, so please can someone give me the right specs just to re-iterate what I think will do? Fully aware I sound bit of a ***** but not too sure on the laptops. Doctoroncall Posted 8 September, 2011 Share Posted 8 September, 2011 Macs are very reliable and are built to last. You can also put on Microsoft office apps on them.
badgerx16 Posted 8 September, 2011 Share Posted 8 September, 2011 Why MS Office, why not Open Office ? Not too much of a learning curve, compatible with Micro$oft software, and free. Look for a system with a dedicated graphics card, with at least 512Mb RAM; the ones with integrated video chips don't have enough performance for gaming, and you can end up with FM failing to display the stadia & crowds.
