Read today that David Beckham's contract with LA Galaxy ends in November and that he might be interested in a move back to England, with QPR interested in him. But I think we could swoop in and try and convince him to move to the south coast. Afterall, we've already lost Puncheon to QPR, it would be bad if we missed out on Beckham to them too!

Now, I know I lot of people on here will shoot me down and call me ridiculous, but I still think HCDAJFU and would give his all every time he pulls the shirt on.

His wages would probably be pretty high, but I reckon NC would be good at negotiating with him and get him to buy into his vision of the future of the club....and he would be a great role model for some of our younger players.

He strikes me as the kind of player that genuinely cares more about football than money these days, so I think it would definately be worth a punt, although it might be difficult to see where he would fit in with our current midfield.

And just think of the money we'd make on shirt sales....!!!!

And then you woke up....

No personal disrespect but it ain't ever going to happen...he'd see it as his brand being devalued for his sponsors...he's less footballer more marketing commodity these days.

I have never owned a Saints replica shirt, not really my thing.

If Beckham came here I'd get one straight away, no question. I think that gives you some sort of indication of the income he could generate, aside from his footballing/coaching abilities.

To be fair he was spotted in Westquay in the run up to England v Macedonia at SMS, and that might swing it. It's also common knowledge he has always wanted to play under Nige...

Please, please tell me that you forgot a smiley to indicate that you were taking the p*ss ?

I did see on his twitter feed "#saintsfc approached me to sign for them. If only they'd asked last year I loved that sash shirt. Had to tell them, sorry don't do stripes"

What is that based on?

He was on huge wages at Man Utd, huge wages at Real Madrid and is currently on huge wages at L.A. Galaxy.

But has he been spotted at Monkey Business in Eastleigh?

I think it's a lot more likely that Posh will persuade him to sign for Blackpool. It'll make it easier for her to spend time with Brett.

Now that made me smile, it could be Danny Fox now.

Posh Spice is a slapper

She's got a hairy box

And when she's ****ging Beckham

She thinks of Danny Fox.

He's being shown round a 4 bed semi in Woolston this afternoon

Estate agent mate of mine just phoned me to say he wants to look round a place at Bucklers Hard.;);):)

im not convinced we have much call for someone to sit on the halfway line, maybe moving 5 yards either side, hitting 60 yards passes that end up just too long for lambert to get on the end of

lol!!! When he signed for Galaxy, including endorsements/image rights etc, he was getting something close to half a million per week to play in a league that's no better than our championship, and claimed he went over there to help "develop the game".

Of course you did David! Nothing to do with the fortune you'd make and movie star lifestyle you'd lead for 5 years.

Ain't gonna happen I'm afraid, not sure Southampton is glamourous enough ;)

No disrespect but some of these threads are just getting silly now.

They are actually so far fetched and so stupid that i wonder if people post them just to get a response.

If you do then it worked cause its ******* daft.

This is true, but I doubt most of the clubs realistically looking to sign him will be too bothered. Whoever he signs for will become one of the biggest name clubs in the Far East etc overnight. Shirt sales would make up most of his wages and, although impossible to monetise, the club brand strength would rocket. From a Prem clubs perspective: £5m journeyman on, say, £30-40k per week or Free David Beckham on £5m per year (mostly paid for as mentioned above)

Brilliant.

I think some posters are now just posting pointless threads, in the hope that people will put them on their list of who to have a pint with from that lounge thread.

Try Penyards. See if they have received an instruction to find a "little" something out in the villages.

Will get right on that.

The BBC football website needs a live feed for this story alone.

UPDATE: Beckham DOES own a house round this way. Otterbourne. Specifically 5 Greenacres Drive.

Well, we've had Keegan, Pele and Best at the club, so why shouldn't we have Beckham too?

Brooklyn will probably be the more likely one in another 6/7 years, rather than his Dad though. He's a bit past it, only good enough for the Yanks.

Whilst not suggesting that there is anything in the OP, if this forum had been around in 1980 and someone suggested that we might sign Kevin Keegan, most the responses would be the same.

Exactly. Jawillwill makes a paerfectly sensible post and all the usual willy-waving, neanderthal, brutish proles on here get over excited.

If they could maybe find a way to be a bit more circumspect in life then the world would indeed be a better place.

Well footballers are like Supermarket staff. Offer him a pound an hour more than LA Galaxy and he's our man.

Only 151k a week. Let's do it. We'd get massive crowds if he was here, I'm talking 80k plus. Look at Chelsea crowds now, they only used to get 10k in 1983 and they didn't even sign David Beckham.

Nah. Get real. There isn't enough here in the way of chic boutiques to attract Posh and as she wears the trousers in that relationship, it's a non-starter.
