St. Neil Posted 3 September, 2011 Posted 3 September, 2011 After seeing a few threads on free agents, Beattie and McFadden etc and randomly looking at a website of Eredivisie bosmans are there anymore free agents we should be looking at? I seem to remember there is a proper website that lists all free agents but cant remember it just a few dutch ones that caught my eye. Oleguer Thimothee Atouba Mika Vayrynen Eric Addo Dalibor Stevanovic
SuperMikey Posted 3 September, 2011 Posted 3 September, 2011 James McFadden PLEASE! Would be an excellent signing.
saint_ed Posted 4 September, 2011 Posted 4 September, 2011 James McFadden PLEASE! Would be an excellent signing. This

St. Neil Posted 4 September, 2011 Author Posted 4 September, 2011 Bar Atouba (another left back? ), i've not heard of the others. Clearly I've not being playing nearly enough football manager! They are mostly ones that had international caps but then I suppose you have to wonder why other teams havent snapped them up yet.
Golden Balls Posted 4 September, 2011 Posted 4 September, 2011 James McFadden PLEASE! Would be an excellent signing. Really? His record isn't great
Crazy Diamond Posted 4 September, 2011 Posted 4 September, 2011 Atouba, who left Spurs because he basically assaulted a player on the pitch? No thanks.
pap Posted 4 September, 2011 Posted 4 September, 2011 Atouba, who left Spurs because he basically assaulted a player on the pitch? No thanks. What do you reckon then, Crazy Diamond? Who would you nab from the world of the unattached?
eurosaint Posted 4 September, 2011 Posted 4 September, 2011 Apparently Liverpool are keen to loan Danny Wilson to a championship club ! http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Danny_Wilson_(Scottish_footballer) Given that Seabourne will be out for a while (same position/left footer) it could be a good option in the short term ! He was a sub for Scotland and was involved in the penalty that never was !

Crazy Diamond Posted 4 September, 2011 Posted 4 September, 2011 What do you reckon then, Crazy Diamond? Who would you nab from the world of the unattached? My number one choice was taken a while back, Chris Burke. It's a fairly uninspiring list now.
MrMojoRisin Posted 5 September, 2011 Posted 5 September, 2011 Danny Wilson would be an amazing loan signing, classy player for his age. Didn't he get to number 1 with Marys prayer
Crazy Diamond Posted 5 September, 2011 Posted 5 September, 2011 Didn't he get to number 1 with Marys prayer Dunno, but he's amazing on Football Manager 2010.
eurosaint Posted 5 September, 2011 Posted 5 September, 2011 Didn't he get to number 1 with Marys prayer No.3 according to Wiki !! Strange name for a group considering there was nobody of that name actually in the band !!
S-Clarke Posted 5 September, 2011 Posted 5 September, 2011 Dunno, but he's amazing on Football Manager 2010. You're right....I sold him for 26m in a game I played a while ago. Snap him up Adkins.
Gemmel Posted 6 September, 2011 Posted 6 September, 2011 http://www.portsmouth.co.uk/sport/pompey/pompey-past/great-matches/pompey_will_lead_emergency_loan_window_scramble_1_3028531 Interesting updated list from Friday (Apologies for the source) Danny ****u anyone
Badger Posted 6 September, 2011 Posted 6 September, 2011 Didn't he get to number 1 with Marys prayer Yes,at the same time he was manager of Sheff Weds or Barnsley.
polegategavin Posted 7 September, 2011 Posted 7 September, 2011 Danny Collins would be good option to take on loan for the CB position IMHO, he is a left footed (left sided) defender too. What about Patrick Agyemang as a back up CF?

What about Patrick Agyemang as a back up CF? You would think that those two would be snapped up by us asap as they fit perfectly. Here's hoping.
stkev7 Posted 8 September, 2011 Posted 8 September, 2011 Danny Collins would be good option to take on loan for the CB position IMHO, he is a left footed (left sided) defender too. What about Patrick Agyemang as a back up CF? Well it would stop him scoring against us.
beancounter saint Posted 8 September, 2011 Posted 8 September, 2011 Well it would stop him scoring against us. Didn't work for Leon Best!!
Professor Posted 8 September, 2011 Posted 8 September, 2011 Danny Wilson would be an excellent addition - maybe Liverpool will be happy to loan him out as they seem to lose when he's playing for them. The downside may be that if Saints were to continue to do well with Wilson in the team, Liverpool might be less willing to extend the loan for the season, or to sell him.

Cricketphilly Posted 8 September, 2011 Posted 8 September, 2011 Any views on Sol Campbell? I saw him for Newcastle against Chelsea in the league cup and he played well. Still outran Nicholas Anelka
dronskisaint Posted 8 September, 2011 Posted 8 September, 2011 I'll chuck Steed Malbranque into this thread. I thought the same this morning when I saw it...not a position we are really short of options in though? Did well for Fulham..always looked class when I've seen him play
Foxstone Posted 8 September, 2011 Posted 8 September, 2011 Yes,at the same time he was manager of Sheff Weds or Barnsley. Pedant alert ! He scored the equa;ising goal for Luton against the Arse in the 1988 League Cup Final - Same time as Mary's Payer was in the UK Top 10
Foxstone Posted 8 September, 2011 Posted 8 September, 2011 I'll chuck Steed Malbranque into this thread. I would chuck him into our starting line-up any day !
ringwood Posted 8 September, 2011 Posted 8 September, 2011 I'll chuck Steed Malbranque into this thread. hasn't he just torn up his contract to be with his son who has been diagnosed with cancer?
Cestrian Saint Posted 8 September, 2011 Posted 8 September, 2011 He was actually playing for the Luton Town team that beat Arsenal 3-2 in the 1988 league cup final when that song was out.
Saint_Ash Posted 8 September, 2011 Posted 8 September, 2011 hasn't he just torn up his contract to be with his son who has been diagnosed with cancer? Haha! Are you serious? You never saw him come out a few days ago saying it's all rubbish and he doesn't even have a son? I didn't even know there were any rumours until I saw him deny it!
Andover_Saint07 Posted 8 September, 2011 Posted 8 September, 2011 didnt he retire as his son is very ill??
Benali Saint Posted 8 September, 2011 Posted 8 September, 2011 Probally a no. But El Hadj Diouf is available on a free.Good player but trouble.
Badger Posted 8 September, 2011 Posted 8 September, 2011 Probally a no. But El Hadj Diouf is available on a free.Good player but trouble. Having just offloaded Puncheon I don't expect NA is looking to bring in another problem case like that.
Ken Tone Posted 9 September, 2011 Posted 9 September, 2011 How about Rob Hulse as competition/cover for Rickie? 31 going on 32 so obviously not one for the future, but a proven goalscorer at this level and more of a target man than the other forwards we have. Just left out of QPR's 25 now they're rich again. Stop gap, until we move onto the next level in every sense. Not sure of his wages but doubt he is on a fortune.
The9 Posted 9 September, 2011 Posted 9 September, 2011 Pedant alert ! He scored the equalising goal for Luton against the Arse in the 1988 League Cup Final - Same time as Mary's Prayer was in the UK Top 10 League Cup Final on 24th April 1988, in which Danny Wilson scored an equaliser for Luton against Arsenal. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/1988_Football_League_Cup_Final - Mary's Prayer (by the band "Danny Wilson", hence the "joke") was at number 3 that week (and stayed there the week after). http://www.chartstats.com/chart.php?date=28%2F04%2F1988 Very weirdly I actually remember listening to the chart the week before (Pet Shop Boys Heart was number 1 with Climie Fisher at number 2) in the car on the way back from an autograss racing meeting somewhere near Bath when I was 15. My brain scares me sometimes, along with my need to share information like that.
