LGTL Posted 19 October, 2011 Posted 19 October, 2011 Definately only the initial allocation, I overheard TO staff talking about it yesterday when I was down getting mine.
Dog Posted 27 October, 2011 Posted 27 October, 2011 Got my tickets yesterday for this concrete jungle.
Turkish Posted 27 October, 2011 Posted 27 October, 2011 Im driving up for this one. First visit to the Ricoh Arena, cant say i am particularly looking forward to it as it seems on TV one of the worst atmospheres in the country with poor crowds. Should win and hopefully get 3k plus up there.
View From The Top Posted 27 October, 2011 Posted 27 October, 2011 My tickets have arrived. Another new ground to tick off. Anyone remember the Ska bands on at Cov' when we played them in an evening game before Xmas, about 15 years ago. The Selector if I remember correctly, and The Beat.

The Selector if I remember correctly, and The Beat. i don't remember them, but i remember it being a friday night, they must have moved it for the Christmas shoppers, and we stopped for a pint in the Rocket (for those who remember pub by the station) and a bit of a moody Christmas do was going on, we stood out a bit and didn't look welcome so supped up and got on the train back to London. Used to like going to Highfield Road.
acersaint Posted 27 October, 2011 Posted 27 October, 2011 Got my tickets. Will be driving there. Any hints on where to park or drink or both!!

Berkshire Saint Posted 27 October, 2011 Posted 27 October, 2011 Got my tickets and think I'm regretting it already... Going to get the train, very easy from Reading. Looks like the next part of the journey is a pain though!

Yeah I remember that night, The Specials played without Terry and Neville sang Concrete Jungle whilst wearing a grass skirt.
This Charming Man Posted 28 October, 2011 Posted 28 October, 2011 There's your problem. There's parking at the ground isn't there?
Colinjb Posted 28 October, 2011 Posted 28 October, 2011 There's parking at the ground isn't there? There's a retail park that allow in customers only. Spend 25 quid or over and you won't get clamped.
Dog Posted 28 October, 2011 Posted 28 October, 2011 Colin, surely you can sort out a local pub, have a word with the landlord and make it Saints only.
saints_is_the_south Posted 28 October, 2011 Author Posted 28 October, 2011 Anybody know how many sold for this so far? Surely must be into a 2nd allocation but no mention on the OS as usual.
adrian lord Posted 30 October, 2011 Posted 30 October, 2011 Was going to get the train but think I'll drive now...31/2 hrs e/w on train from Norfolk and 5 changes in total, and £65, bugger that. went there with Saints a couple of years back when the Ricoh first opened, the whole place is a soulless dump. The one pub we went into was worse than that bar on Tatooine, utter freakshow.
oldsarum Posted 30 October, 2011 Posted 30 October, 2011 The second allocation came on monday, would imagine we'll have 2,500 up there following yesterdays performance, after all only 2 hour drive and just over 2 hrs on train
mirrorcarp Posted 30 October, 2011 Posted 30 October, 2011 Can i still buy tickets for this,OS not very helpful regards our allocation.
Shroppie Posted 30 October, 2011 Posted 30 October, 2011 (edited) There's cheap parking just off the M6 Jn3 in a field. About 3/4 mile walk to ground but easy getaway - have used it before. Book online http://www.walktrot.com/new_page_4.htm The Blackhorse as recommended on the site is also good, if you're not the driver. Edited 30 October, 2011 by Shroppie

We done this a few years ago, the pub served a purpose and was handy for parking. Going by train for the first time this season. Anyone know of a boozer close to the station that I can kill half an hour in as will be waiting for mates to arrive on different train?

Bit of a s**t hole, but you can't miss it and it does the trick.
stkev7 Posted 30 October, 2011 Posted 30 October, 2011 The Rocket. Bit of a s**t hole, but you can't miss it and it does the trick. Cheers but I just checked it and one of the comments says it closed last year, going by the other amusing comments I don't think it is a bad thing.

Dr Who? Posted 1 November, 2011 Posted 1 November, 2011 Not sure if I can go to this one or not, can I pay on the day?
This Charming Man Posted 1 November, 2011 Posted 1 November, 2011 Any idea on how many we've sold? Would like to think we would take more here than Derby and Leicester, seeing as it is a bit closer.
JRM Posted 1 November, 2011 Posted 1 November, 2011 Not sure if I can go to this one or not, can I pay on the day? Yes.
Appy Posted 1 November, 2011 Posted 1 November, 2011 Any idea on how many we've sold? Would like to think we would take more here than Derby and Leicester, seeing as it is a bit closer. Take a away a few as it involves people going to Coventry.
Thorpe-le-Saint Posted 1 November, 2011 Posted 1 November, 2011 I hate Coventry and everything about it. Last time I went there we got smashed 4-1 and I vowed that I would never ever return...however, we're top of the league and I've booked my car parking space now so I guess I'll go!
CFSFC Posted 2 November, 2011 Posted 2 November, 2011 Any idea on how many we've sold? Would like to think we would take more here than Derby and Leicester, seeing as it is a bit closer. This?
ladysaint Posted 3 November, 2011 Posted 3 November, 2011 I have two seats left on minibus if anyone looking for travel, leaving Southampton at 930 can pick up at Winnall too.
Sour Mash Posted 3 November, 2011 Posted 3 November, 2011 Anyone know if they run buses up to the ground from the train station or do they only go from the Pool Meadow bus station in town?
JRM Posted 3 November, 2011 Posted 3 November, 2011 Anyone know if they run buses up to the ground from the train station or do they only go from the Pool Meadow bus station in town? actually thinking about it, when i went there before had to go to the bus station to get the football bus, there was a wetherspoons very close to it which might be a good stop off point for a pint.
This Charming Man Posted 3 November, 2011 Posted 3 November, 2011 Apparently we have sold nearly 2,500 according to a post on the main forum. Let's hope we can manage to get that up to 3,000.

Yeah had a look through the usual bits and pieces and think that's the option, stroll down to Spoons, couple in there, then an earlyish bus up the ground. Exciting
mirrorcarp Posted 3 November, 2011 Posted 3 November, 2011 (edited) Got a spare ticket if any one wants it. £15 A mate has dropped out . I live in totton. Edited 3 November, 2011 by mirrorcarp
saints_is_the_south Posted 3 November, 2011 Author Posted 3 November, 2011 Was looking for pubs close to the ground online, this place welcomes away fans and is about a 15 minute walk from the ground - http://www.longfordengine.com/ - Looks ok and right on the canal too.
Colinjb Posted 3 November, 2011 Posted 3 November, 2011 Apparently the Casino attached to the Ricoh arena allows in away fans before the game. I will be trying that on Saturday (although I will be meeting a Cov supporting mate while there.)
Chez Posted 4 November, 2011 Posted 4 November, 2011 First trip to the new ground, anyone recomment a decent place to park for the Ricoh arena

Sour Mash Posted 4 November, 2011 Posted 4 November, 2011 Hi Mate. check out this page. good advice in here.... http://www.footballgroundguide.com/coventry_city/ This bit caught my eye "Again just when you think on your travels that you have seen it all.... I couldn't quite believe seeing near to the stadium 'Bubbles Car Wash' which advertised topless car washes for £15! Considering it was a cold November night, I thought that they should be charging more than £15 for that!"
saintchris23 Posted 4 November, 2011 Posted 4 November, 2011 Got a spare ticket if any one wants it. £15 A mate has dropped out . I live in totton. Do you still have the ticket?

ladysaint Posted 4 November, 2011 Posted 4 November, 2011 Have one seat left cost should be in the region of £15-18 hopefully leaving Shirley at 930 let me know if you are interested.

100%Red&White Posted 4 November, 2011 Posted 4 November, 2011 Got my tickets yesterday for this concrete jungle. Concrete Jungle? It's a fookin Ghost Town. Altogether now.....

saints_is_the_south Posted 6 November, 2011 Author Posted 6 November, 2011 Well after all of the negative reports about Coventry as an away day on here prior to yesterday, have to say me & my mates had a cracking day. Got up there at about half 9, went to the Flying Standard in the city centre, probably the best spoons' breakfast I've ever had. Few beers there, moved onto the Longford Engine which was a nice little boozer, right by the canal. Add the game & a win on top of that and there being 3k Saints up there, great day all round really.
sotonjoe Posted 6 November, 2011 Posted 6 November, 2011 Went to the Greyhound, blagged a table in the restaurant and has a decent pie and mash. Then a slow walk along the canal to the game. Can't complain.

I was in both those pubs on Saturday and they were average at best, the whole day reminded me what a dump of a city Coventry is. Hopefully we won't be going back there in a hurry!
