georgeweahscousin Posted 2 September, 2011 Posted 2 September, 2011 According to a tweeter, the victim in this story was Dan Seaborne. Let's hope it isn't true. http://www.dailyecho.co.uk/news/9229641.Man_attacked_in_Southampton_city_centre/?ref=rss
skintsaint Posted 2 September, 2011 Posted 2 September, 2011 Lets hope not - any also hope the poor bugger recovers quick.
Saint Garrett Posted 2 September, 2011 Posted 2 September, 2011 Fighting for his life ?!?! Christ....Get well soon whoever it is !
labibs Posted 2 September, 2011 Posted 2 September, 2011 Apparently it is Seaborne. Thrown out of Junk by the bouncers and smashed his head on the pavement outside. Didn't realise it was life threatening. I hope he is okay.
georgeweahscousin Posted 2 September, 2011 Author Posted 2 September, 2011 I have an inbuilt an irrational hatred for "Bouncers" due to personal experiences. I really hope this turns out to be untrue, and pity whoever the victim is.
ant Posted 2 September, 2011 Posted 2 September, 2011 Well Seaborne is 24... Crikey, best wishes to whoever it is.
Ivan Katalinic's 'tache Posted 2 September, 2011 Posted 2 September, 2011 Deffo Seaborne - on Echo now!
Lazlo78 Posted 2 September, 2011 Posted 2 September, 2011 WTF?! Scary stuff :-( And this paragraph could have been worded in a little more context sensitive manner: "All summer, Saints manager Nigel Adkins has been searching for a new centre half as the club began an assault on the Championship."
georgeweahscousin Posted 2 September, 2011 Author Posted 2 September, 2011 Jesus Wept. Get well soon Dan.

The9 Posted 2 September, 2011 Posted 2 September, 2011 Bloody hell, parallels with one of our old posters here too... Let's hope he recovers and those responsible are brought to justice.
saints-cris Posted 2 September, 2011 Posted 2 September, 2011 Jesus christ.. get well soon Dan. Horrible news
ohwhenthesaints Posted 2 September, 2011 Posted 2 September, 2011 Doesn't seem like the kind of guy who would cause trouble to me. Get well soon, Dan.
bpsaint Posted 2 September, 2011 Posted 2 September, 2011 Christ alive, hope he pulls through, that's awful news.
hypochondriac Posted 2 September, 2011 Posted 2 September, 2011 The bouncers at junk have always been w*nkers. Terrible news get well soon dan.
holepuncture Posted 2 September, 2011 Posted 2 September, 2011 Apparently it is Seaborne. Thrown out of Junk by the bouncers and smashed his head on the pavement outside. Didn't realise it was life threatening. I hope he is okay. Hope he is ok. Ive known bouncers that used to have running competitions on how far they could throw drunk punters out of pubs (in pompey)... most bouncers are failures in life that werent good enough to make it in the police/army/navy etc... think they are hard picking on drunk people... if they are responsible for this they should be trialed for attempted murder - and it should be publicised as a deterrent to the rest of the scumbag bouncers that behave well outside of their jurisdiction
scott_saints Posted 2 September, 2011 Posted 2 September, 2011 Life threatening injuries? Doesn't look like we'll be seeing him playing for a while then! Hope he pulls through and makes a speedy recovery!
beatlesaint Posted 2 September, 2011 Posted 2 September, 2011 Christ, hope he is ok, all the best Dan. Typical Echo fininshing their report by saying Saints have been looking for a new centre half therefore indicating he is about to be replaced !!
Shrek Posted 2 September, 2011 Posted 2 September, 2011 This is truly shocking, please get well soon Dan my thoughts and prayers are with you.
The9 Posted 2 September, 2011 Posted 2 September, 2011 Hope he is ok. Ive known bouncers that used to have running competitions on how far they could throw drunk punters out of pubs (in pompey)... most bouncers are failures in life that werent good enough to make it in the police/army/navy etc... think they are hard picking on drunk people... if they are responsible for this they should be trialed for attempted murder - and it should be publicised as a deterrent to the rest of the scumbag bouncers that behave well outside of their jurisdiction As I mentioned earlier, there are probably a few posters on here who will see uncomfortable parallels with the death of a former poster on one of this site's forerunners.
Windmill Arm 2 Posted 2 September, 2011 Posted 2 September, 2011 Awful news, get well soon. Why did the echo have to mention that Adkins has been looking for a center half all summer? Any excuse to put an even more negative slant on it.....****s!
JackanorySFC Posted 2 September, 2011 Posted 2 September, 2011 Was it definately the Doorman? I hate Doorman. Hope he pulls through, top player and good lad!
Master Bates Posted 2 September, 2011 Posted 2 September, 2011 As I mentioned earlier, there are probably a few posters on here who will see uncomfortable parallels with the death of a former poster on one of this site's forerunners. Yup. Get well soon Danny.
ManorHouseSaint Posted 2 September, 2011 Posted 2 September, 2011 Absolute shocker! There is some absolute scum out there. All the best in your recovery Dan!
Chap in the Chapel Posted 2 September, 2011 Posted 2 September, 2011 Awful news. I hope Dan makes a full recovery as quickly as possible.
Pancake Posted 2 September, 2011 Posted 2 September, 2011 As I mentioned earlier, there are probably a few posters on here who will see uncomfortable parallels with the death of a former poster on one of this site's forerunners. One of the first thoughts that jumped into my head too.
Micky Posted 2 September, 2011 Posted 2 September, 2011 Terrible news, hope he makes a full and speedy recovery and is back playing soon - get well soon Dan.
Giordano Posted 2 September, 2011 Posted 2 September, 2011 The Echo report last two paragraphs are disgracefully insensitive and totally inappropriate. I've asked they be removed. Get back and well soon Dan.
georgeweahscousin Posted 2 September, 2011 Author Posted 2 September, 2011 Far too often Bouncers get away with assaulting people in the name of "security". If they are found guilty, the club itself should get a massive fine for employing hired goons.
revolution saint Posted 2 September, 2011 Posted 2 September, 2011 Bad news. Hope you get well soon Dan.
ladysaint Posted 2 September, 2011 Posted 2 September, 2011 Feel totally sick after reading this and others have mentioned the similarity with the death of another poster. Sincerely hope he makes a full recovery. What the hell is this city coming to.
whizz Posted 2 September, 2011 Posted 2 September, 2011 Who was the poster who died from similar circumstances?
Sour Mash Posted 2 September, 2011 Posted 2 September, 2011 Get well soon Dan! Top lad, no-one deserves to end up like that when going out fo ra few drinks.
The9 Posted 2 September, 2011 Posted 2 September, 2011 Who was the poster who died from similar circumstances? Griff
ExSt Peter Saint Posted 2 September, 2011 Posted 2 September, 2011 Awful thing to happen, but what was he doing out at 3am? Drowning his sorrows after realising he's lost his place in the team?
The9 Posted 2 September, 2011 Posted 2 September, 2011 Awful thing to happen, but what was he doing out at 3am? Drowning his sorrows after realising he's lost his place in the team? You do realise we have 8 days to our next match, right ?
Saint Garrett Posted 2 September, 2011 Posted 2 September, 2011 The players are allowed a social life you know ?!
North Wilts Saint Posted 2 September, 2011 Posted 2 September, 2011 I really hope this is a case of the Echo over-dramatising and he is not in as serious a condition as they suggest, if that is the case then horrible horrible news
