southbourne saint Posted 1 September, 2011 Share Posted 1 September, 2011 Just a few short months ago we played at Dean Court and had we lost we would have been 9 pts behind them. Look where we both are now what a rise for Saints and how did they manage to collapse so quickly. I really believe they will go under again this season their gates are getting real bad. I think this all stems from the failing to fill their ground when flying high, which is why Mitchell iS selling their best players. Great living in Bournemouth their silence is deafening. Well it's all Mitchell's fault. He's skint and selling anything not nailed down. But he turned CSI Group away at the start of LAST season because they weren't real investors so he kept the moral high ground for his club unlikely the other south coast club to the east Back to L2 for them IF they make it through the season
Lighthouse Posted 1 September, 2011 Share Posted 1 September, 2011 More striking I think is Plymouth. A year ago they beat us at SMS on the opening day of the season and were tipped to go straight back up again by many. Now they are bottom of the football League, potless and we are basically 3 leagues above them. One day Pompey, one day...

Toomer Posted 1 September, 2011 Share Posted 1 September, 2011 Dear Southampton Football Club, we are up to necks in it again and can not pay the wages would you be so kind as to send a team down to play us and help raise some cash. Dear AFCB, give us a little time to think it over..............................we have had 30 secs to think it over and the answer is no! now feck off! Swindon as well hard to believe they beat us 4 times out of 5 over the last two seasons. Now they're flying low in league two with Il Duce as manager. Pedro Posted 1 September, 2011 Share Posted 1 September, 2011 Mitchell was a total knob tonight on the Solent forum, swearing and telling fans to go and support Saints and to mail in questions on the finances because he is a builder not into accounts. He couldn't answer questions to a couple of eloquent guys. Also, just announced that Lovell has retired due to ongoing injuries so an even smaller squad. This is a sad state of affairs for those genuine Bompey fans. Unlike those who came on here giving it the big one about something called a rivalry? Neil Posted 2 September, 2011 Share Posted 2 September, 2011 It's amazing those tinpot clubs like Skates/Cherries/Swindon/Plymouth all thought they were on a par or better than us. They all look miles away from us now, apart from Skates who are "only" 6 pts behind us but hopefully increasing!
svetigpung Posted 2 September, 2011 Share Posted 2 September, 2011 time does change things, and quickly at that... Now were flying high but not so long ago, beginning of last season, where were we on the south coast table? It did hurt to realise we were below Pimpey, B-mouth, Brighton, Reading, Plymouth and flipping Swindon FFS. Those were dark times. Good to have a short memory now. Lets all enjoy the now! Swindon were in Play Off Final and chance of going up to Championship, a now in danger of being in the same league as Salisbury next season It does seem though that clubs like Swindon and Bournemouth have their one chance of glory, but if they miss out they're unlikley yo maintain the momentum as they lose their best palyers / managers etc.
SimonC Posted 2 September, 2011 Share Posted 2 September, 2011 This is a sad state of affairs for those genuine Bompey fans. Unlike those who came on here giving it the big one about something called a rivalry? Not even we thought it would be this bad. I didn't give it the big one at all last year, as I knew you would get promoted in the end. Few keyboard warriors as ever... Not been on here for a while as got some abuse last time which was a bit disappointing and a bit needless really. Considering you had beaten us 3 times and had got promoted...and didn't care about us anyway LOL!
JackanorySFC Posted 2 September, 2011 Share Posted 2 September, 2011 Can we please stop calling them "Bompey". I've actually got a lot of time for Bournemouth, good night out and decent beaches. Too even begin to compare my feelings towards AFCB with my genuine hated of all things (football and non football) P*rtsmouth is unimaginable. "Bompey" is childish, pathetic and non reflective of true feelings from our support imo.

TBF you don't need to be a fan of another club to get abuse on this forum So whats your take on Mitchell? out to make a quick buck or just realistic about what your clubs fininaces are really like? Hows Doble doing BTW any good?
SimonC Posted 2 September, 2011 Share Posted 2 September, 2011 ha ha..yes I can take some grief. I think it was just the patronising stuff that was hard to take! God knows with Mitchell - Its just the football side (the most important bit) is being really neglected. Yes we have from 1-1.4 million in the bank, but we need some extra players quick! Perhaps expectations have been raised after last year, but to lose 7 players, a well respected youth team coach (Joe Roach) the chief scout and a great management team in 7 months seems like football suicide. Just so hard to get the business / football balance right I suppose. In the end, our PATHETIC home attendances need to get to 7/8k on average for us to improve... Doble - bit hot and cold at the moment, defo promise though

Turkish Posted 2 September, 2011 Share Posted 2 September, 2011 It's quite sad some of you are gloating about being more successful than a club Whig is permanently skint and gets crowd of of 6k if they're lucky. Oh and stop calling them Bompey, it's f*cking embarrassing.

FloridaMarlin Posted 2 September, 2011 Share Posted 2 September, 2011 I've heard all sorts of stories from journo mates with sound contacts in the Bournemouth area about Mitchell, not least of which involves how he kept the club going through loans from 'business associates' instead of the banks. Now they want their money back, and being keen caravanning enthusiasts are not the type to argue with. Hence his desperate attempt to hawk Eddie Howe (Bournemouth's best asset) around last season and the close-season fire sale. I think alarm bells would start ringing somewhere in the back of my head if I knew the chairman of my club, with a ground in a highly desirable suburb of one of the most attractive south coast towns, was a builder. SimonC Posted 2 September, 2011 Share Posted 2 September, 2011 Glad you finally understand. Glad you get it too clever clogs. A minority of Saints fans (I presume like you) really got your knickers in a twist last year over a few keyboard warriors. Let yourself down i'm afraid there getting that animated about 'little old AFCB'
