They're exactly the same answers to what GeorgeWeahsCousin copied from twitter, word for word. So it's still doesn't clarify if they're true or not.

Read the whole thread, the details from Twitter are corroborated and expanded on by someone claiming to have also gone.

When we went, Cortese said players were on contracts that changed to pre-determined wages depending on what league they were playing in. E.G some players were willing to sign their contract which stated if the team dropped into league two, their salaries would decrease CONSIDERABLY. I'm not going to say how much he mentioned because this forum has alot of old farts and sceptics who wouldn't believe it anyway.

Therefore, as we have just been promoted, i'm sure many of the players will be on more than they were last year.

So if you've been before, and he mentioned actual figures, then it is quite likely he would have mentioned figures again. Makes the whole thing more believable. Especially if someone on some other forum has agreed too.

Just a guess but maybe the OP has a life outside of this forum!

The thread on the ugly says that attendees have to sign a confidentiallity agreement (No idea if that is trur or not) and suspect if that is the case the OP is honouring that.

I doubt that is true at all. If the information shared is that sensitive then it wouldn't be shared with fans in the first place.

Whats the point in the evening if they get to know more than anyone else ? I thought the whole point was that generally he rubns the evenings and then it goes out to a lot of the other fans through friends/messageboards etc, and then looks good on him due to him having a close relationship with the fans....win/win?! I don't see any reason why they would make the information exclusive then surely they wouldnt share it with the fans in the first place !?

Indeed.

Why would they tell a handful of fans sensitive information, even with some sort of NDA (which would be pretty much unenforceable in this situation - what are they likely to do?), when they know damn well the first thing they'll do when they get home is tell a load of their mates what was said?

Exactly, they've all been copied from the same place. Absolute rubbish!

I thought this was all good stuff. I love the 'we had a £3m bid for Lallana but we binned it' and 'Oxo's parents are not welcome at the club any more' amongst other comments. I think the idea of inviting the ST holders is good (as I am one!!) as any other open meeting would be hijacked by the mad men on this forum and all the other self styled spokesmen for the supporters. :)

Certainly wasn't the case on the one I went too. If it is now, the original poster could always just respond and say that.

Very little reason to believe the original poster didn't have an invite. He started this thread before the dinner and before the club spokesman confirmed on Twitter that it took place. So he had prior knowledge before it was made public.

I hope he does, but I would also hope this is important enough for him to have a break from his holiday/doing important work to post on a fan's forum to feed the craving for club info so it can be dissected and the meaning of each sentence scrutinized and re-analysed to fit their own opinion or prejudice.

I think it's important we tackle the big issues at these meetings like the car parking charges, programme content and if he is intending on allowing one of our supa-dupa fans onto the board?

Massive rofl at these comments though;

1. Having spoken to several season ticket holders who have been invited to these events, all have been afraid to say too much in case they befall a similar fate to myself.

2. If 100 invites were sent out and only 14 replied, does that not tell you something about how the majority of fans perceive these dinners. Why were 76% of fans either too scared or not bothered about going ?

3. "So called fan representatives" are the people who give up their time for supporters issues, the club needs a properly elected system with fans representing their interests, these dinners are just like lowe's policy of divide and conquer with fans groups

Two guesses who made those comments!!

"the club needs a properly elected system with fans representing their interests"

No it doesn't!

Read the whole thread on the Ugly inside, not just the opening few posts.

I read the whole thread and it seemed to be dominated by UTS who has a clear anti NC agenda. Looking at the info on Twitter the overall content of the conversations seem plausible, although I am surprised that NC would speak about players salaries as portreyed. Perhaps the numbers came from the author rather than from NC directly. Overall no big surprises and we seem to be consistently heading in the right direction.

That link reminded me why I gave up on the UI...although a few of it's refugees are doing their best over here.

On the broader picture - how many other clubs solicit feedback from the fans in this way?

Genuine question as I've not heard talk from other club's supporters?

Haha, go on, have a guess. ;)

I have a lot of sympathy with Nick for his position with Cortese, but this is just plain bollax. I have not heard of fans frightened to ask questions or any consequences. You only have to look at the questions already asked and the replies to see this has no legs.

The main reason there are so few replies is the time given to attend is very little. Us "uber" supporters on the internet know exactly what is going on. Most would not have a clue and easily confuse it with one of Osmans pyramid do's previously at the club.

If this is divide and conquer, there is no way he should be inviting any old farts. As by the time these do's have got up to 5%, they will have forgotten or gone to pastures new.

so this FACUP76 was chatting **** then about going to dinner with Cortese it seems

It does seem a tad odd that the only information that came out of this latest "Dine with Cortese" was some dubious Twitter messages (unless I missed other feedback at the time?)

A conspiracy theorist might be inclined to suggest that the meeting never actually happened but 'someone' wanted to give the impression it was happening.

Good job I'm no conspiracy theorist.

i actually was invited to this dinner and had a very nice evening , and went away honestly believing our club is in great hands , not going to go in to what was said , more fun reading all the ****** people on here make up by thereselves

It can't have happened or you would have heard the results.

And the reason you would have heard is why these events take place.

That's how PR works.

No point having your story and telling it to no one...

Not even a brief summary of what was discussed?

If all we get is people saying there was a Q&A dinner with Nicola a few weeks ago but no feedback is forthcoming then it might lead some people (not me, obviously) to conclude it didn't happen. Or, that people were asked not to reveal anything...

Well, indeed. That's precisely what's happened after previous such dinners. Just curious that this one hasn't given rise to the same level of public feedback. Seemingly.

On Twitter Jordan Sibley said it did happen. This thread was made before that Tweet, so the opening poster is clearly itk.

I think what we are seeing here then is the reality of Nasty Nic.

He invites a dozen fans to a forum - a nice little dinner - to ask anything you like about the future of the club.

Said fans turn up and are treated to a half decent roast from St Mary's best chef. They enjoy a couple of glasses of Chianti and some fava beans...

And not one of them is alive to tell the tale.

Cortese the murderer!!!!

Can one of the stattos amongst us work out the probability that any of those attending are actually posters on here.? Pretty slim I'd guess
At the one I went to at the end of last year, there were three forum members at the meal who came on here after and said they went. There may have been others who just kept quiet.

I can confirm based on conversations with them at the event and on here afterwards that the two people other than me were real people and not just people saying they went. Likewise obviously they'd confirm I am real and went

Well, we've already had two posters say they attended this one, so not that slim I would boldly venture.... both have 'chosen' not to give feedback on what was discussed. Just an observation...
