JRM Posted 7 September, 2011 Share Posted 7 September, 2011 My mate got tickets at the end of last week and said no problems getting in kingsland, plenty of choice, but I can’t blame people for holding on to their money and buying nearer the game. It has been three weeks since the last home game though, and people will be back from holidays now so would be good to get a big crowd in. If Forest can bring a couple of thousand down I reckon we could get to 27k, the following week v Birmingham will be much smaller with it being on a Sunday I reckon. Am I the only one who is disappointed that we don’t seem to be recognising the fact we are in the Carling Cup 3rd round? The game is two weeks today yet it does not feature in the fixture list and no ticket news announced. Charlton play Preston next Tuesday so maybe they are waiting for that to be completed first. I love a good cup run so fingers crossed. £14 a little steep. Should be a tenner or some money off for season ticket holders and kids for a quid to get the crowd in. Saint Garrett Posted 7 September, 2011 Share Posted 7 September, 2011 With the first game since payday, less games this month, 2nd in the league, playing great football, big club, you'd expect ATLEAST 26k IMO
Ken Tone Posted 7 September, 2011 Share Posted 7 September, 2011 I got tickets 2 days ago and the only pairs of seats in Kingsland were at the back or a few near the front. Opted for the corner anyway, but there clearly weren't many and the more expensive central blocks were sold out bar a handful of single sets. Similar with Itchen. Guess we can expect 25k? Anyone know more specific figures? Think people will be up for it. Forest are a big club, it's nice to be playing them rather than some tiny league 1 club we have little history against. Plus the chance to mock McLaren and DMG. Genuine question because I rarely buy tickets for home league games being a ST-holder.... are there usually many pairs of seats for sale in the 'expensive blocks' of the the kingsland for any game? So manyof the people who sit round me are also ST-holders that you'd never get a pair of seats 'casual' near us. I suspect the Kingsland has the highest number of ST seats sold. 100%Red&White Posted 8 September, 2011 Share Posted 8 September, 2011 Reckon it'll be a big gate - ticket office woman said "there aren't many left, it'll be busy" If true, that's probably as they haven't opened the Itchen/North corner. They'll be 1500 empty seats in the visitors section including Northam segregation, 1000 empty Itchen/North (unless demand increases) and 1000 empty corporate. That would leave around 27,500 seats to fill which maybe getting close now.

benjii Posted 8 September, 2011 Share Posted 8 September, 2011 I'm going for 25,874. Would still like to see more though, but think that's mostly down to cost. I remember home to Forest a few years back when we were rubbish, Lowe made it £15 and it near sold out. Still think it's better to have more people at a lower price. It's obviously not better though, is it? 32k at £15 or 25k at £25 (I know the average price is lower than those figures). Pretty clear which is better. farawaysaint Posted 9 September, 2011 Share Posted 9 September, 2011 Depends how you view it. Full stadium means better atmosphere and support for the team, creation of more fans, more food/drink/programme/merchandise sales. Adrians is of course right an extra 7000 people buying a drink each and some halftime snacks will cover the 10 pound difference and create a better atmosphere. The problem is of course that there's no guarantee that charging a lower price will mean the extra 7000 will show up in the championship. the club has to choose the optimum budget mix of price and capacity same as any business. You think only 2% of the extra fans at the stadium would buy something? I'd say that's conservative but I do agree with you for the most part, I should have phrased my post better. I meant that the club's management accountant doubtless takes the percentage of fans buying merchandise and snacks into consideration when setting matchday price in line with budgets anyway. The price should be set at the level that historically will generate the most income and because we're not a club like Man U or Arsenal that sells out any price that level is below maximum capacity. Charlie Wayman Posted 9 September, 2011 Share Posted 9 September, 2011 We should win this one. My guess is that it will be a dreary affair more of a physical battle but we should edge it 1-0, and I'll take a 2-0 if we give it all. Forest won't come to play football they'll come to spoil and nick a point to make it 6 from 6 Martin will def get the nod over Hoover based on his Leeds outing and will stay for 90 if we don't concede. Really too early to fit Hoover into our style of play.
The9 Posted 9 September, 2011 Share Posted 9 September, 2011 Rubbish, they'll be plenty left. 26k crowd in I reckon. Based on my disturbingly accurate guess for the first home match, I'm going for around 27k, possibly just under, for this one. Seems like a long time since we had a home match, not least because I haven't been to any cup games and went to V Festival instead of Millwall. Missing next week's too... what a plastic. They drew at home with Barnsley who we beat away, and lost away to Millwall who we beat at home. They also drew with Leicester at home who we lost to away, and got thrashed by West Ham. I can see us getting an early goal and taking them apart. Edited 9 September, 2011 by The9

positivepete Posted 9 September, 2011 Share Posted 9 September, 2011 . Really too early to fit Hoover into our style of play. Not sure about that, he was a Tony Mowbray buy at Celtic, Tony Mowbray plays the stlye we do. The hoof ball that Lennon plays would not suit JH, and being Dutch he is brought up playing our sort of football and far more likely to fit in straight away. StDunko Posted 9 September, 2011 Share Posted 9 September, 2011 Does anyone believe that McClaren is going to be the manager that takes under-funded Forest back up to the prem and back to their glory days? I certainly don't. I think he will be a flop and will be sacked by the end of the season. He clearly does not rate the squad he currently has at his disposal. Hopefully he is correct about his players and we take advantage of that. Come on Saints, lets get three points tomorrow.

So fingers crossed that Saints will do me proud and win again and that we can go top depending on how Brighton do at Bristol City or something and other results go our way aswell but we'l see! Am going to go for 3-1 Saints with Lambert (2!) n Lalanna/Cork for Saints n Miller/McGugan or however his name is spelt for Forest to hopefully pile some more misery on Forest and especially Steve Mclaren!!! The last time I was on holiday was the 1st game of the season when we beat Leeds 3-1, Torquay in the Carling Cup n Millwall in the league! COYR !!!
