egg Posted 1 September, 2011 Share Posted 1 September, 2011 This is true... and it's also the most commonly reported time for abductions, allegedly :-o It is. Last winter my daughter woke me up about three am saying that something was in her room, that her radiator had fallen off her wall and the room was really hot. When I went in the rad brackets had come clean off the wall and the rad was lying at the end of her bed. Weirder still the heating was on, despite the timer not due to kick in until about six. Scared the life out of us.
Jonnyboy Posted 1 September, 2011 Share Posted 1 September, 2011 Your a tit for doing a Ouja board, I dont get involved in all that stuff but remember when I was a kid my mum and dad were adament that it was something you just dont touch, I never really listened to them at the time being a teenager but somehow I just got that feeling it was not worth it, leave it to the goths! Look if I were you I'd swallow my pride and get in whoever can help, I have heard that a vicar can actually bless a house so if you dont want to talk to spook people you have another option maybe. Good luck, feel bad for your 3 year old and because of that think you should sort it. COYS Good point!
saint boggy Posted 1 September, 2011 Share Posted 1 September, 2011 Why do so many people say "Steer clear from the Oija Board" but don't say reasons why...? My Auntie had an experience that after doing the Oija every Friday for 15 years stopped sharp and won't talk about why. WTF!? Sounds like you in a bit of a pickle Dog, especially with Mini Dog now saying stuff like that! Will never forget my Daughter saying "Look at the little girl playing on my swing!" at her Nans house. Scared the f*ck out of me as on 2 occasions when I was little I heard a little girl there. That's me up for the night now. FFS! because you have no idea what you may be unleashing. A harmless bit of fun could turn into something insidious.I had a spirit in my house when we moved into it 14years ago.Luckily he was a harmless spirit who, oddly enough, i actually enjoyed having around. He was just a young boy (12-13ish) and so was not in any way upsetting at all (apparently ,having a child spirit is a good omen, they gravitate to loving homes by all accounts). But i have also witnessed 'not-so-nice' spirits too, one of whom enjoyed scaring the **** out of a friend of mine,by every now n then "walking through her", he had been haunting her since childhood. A family member (who knows what she's doing when it comes to spirits etc) performed what can only be described as an exorcism and i tell you something ,it scared the sh1t out of me. My friend's voice changed into a man's voice as the spirit was being commanded away from her,he didn't want to go and was certainly putting up a fight!!...some on here may mock, but i swear to God there was NO WAY my 5'2" friend could've made that noise voluntarily!..:-/ .....like i said SCARY SH1T!!.... Dog Posted 2 September, 2011 Author Share Posted 2 September, 2011 Children are very susceptable (sp?) to paranormal activity. If your child is scared by this spirit then it's obviously not a pleasant one. Where abouts are you Dog? i know someone who could help you if you're in Southampton. And my advice to anyone even thinking about doing a Ouija Board, DON'T!...... Thanks for your kind offer but I don't live near Southampton. After reading your post about the woman with the mans voice, I had a really strange thing happen to me, three nights ago. I was explaining to my partner about certain activities during the night when all of a sudden my voice went really high pitched and I sounded like an old lady for about one minute. At the time I thought I had a bubble in my throat and we both laughed and took the p!ss.

Frankly this sounds terrifying to me, but then although I have never had an experience with ghosts/demons it is something I have always been 'frightened' of. I suggest you go down to that church down at the bottom of your road and ask the Rev. He'll have an idea of a course of action.
Raging Bull Posted 2 September, 2011 Share Posted 2 September, 2011 Oh FFS girls, due to the laws of physics ghosts cannot physically exist, and due to the fact sound is the movement of air, the fact that they can't physically appear means they can't make a noise........ Any feeling of cold or someone being sat on your chest is your bodys heart slowing down during your sleep pattern, often making you feel paralysed. Sometimes when your heart slows too much your body will "jump" you awake, it happens to all of us. Basically it's an over active mind.

Raging Bull Posted 2 September, 2011 Share Posted 2 September, 2011 What about thunder and lightning? Plenty of noise and bright light, even if there isn't actually anything 'there'. On the contrary there's plenty there, basically Lightning is caused by electric potential between 2 clouds or 1 cloud and the ground. When enough Electrons have been stored they are released as lightning. Thunder is the compression and refraction of the very hot air

The point I am trying to make is that lightning is not actually a physical object. It is an electric discharge with no actual mass, unless you're counting the movement of the electrons. Yet it can still make a very loud noise.

Lighthouse Posted 2 September, 2011 Share Posted 2 September, 2011 Light contains energy which comes in the form of photons which do/must have mass E=mc2. You originally said something cannot possibly make a noise because it cannot physically appear. My point is that thunder and lightning are formed by an electrical dischanrge, which isn't a physical object, but can produce large amounts of light, heat and sound. What's to say so called, 'paranormal activity' isn't caused by some for of electric discharge.

Ohio Saint Posted 2 September, 2011 Share Posted 2 September, 2011 Ghosts have very little to no mass, therefore are not bound by a very weak force such as gravity. As soon as they are formed, they would be left behind by the Earth at 107,000 kph as it orbits the sun. Just wave goodbye to your ghost and tell him you will see him next year.....And to bring beer. CHAPEL END CHARLIE Posted 2 September, 2011 Share Posted 2 September, 2011 The rational part of me dismisses the possibility of the supernatural as fictional hogwash, fit only for cheap entertainment and the fevered imagination of the gullible. But if I'm perfectly honest - in the 'dead of night' - sometimes an older, more instinctive, part of the human brain can still reassert itself. It is kinda like religious belief - I don't share in the faith of believers, but a man has to question his point of view sometimes when he see's so many reasonable and intelligent people that are convinced of the truth of it. If I take the OP's story at face value, then I must confess that I too would be freaked out by what he is reportedly experiencing. I only wish I had something more constructive in the way of practical help to offer.

Smirking_Saint Posted 2 September, 2011 Share Posted 2 September, 2011 Its hardly the workings of the universe is it, just basic physics for numpties! Oh and just a different (rational) opinion Basic Physics is only there to explain what we already know and have theorised, many years ago it was beyond rational thought that you could not fall off the edges of the earth which was coincidentally flat, that was proven so very wrong. The thing is, scientific theory only explains what it can, a real scientist, or more someone that studies and believes in science rather than religion etc cannot dismiss something out of hand and say that it is indeed impossible, as it has not been proven to be impossible by any stretch of the imagination. Ghosts etc can concievably be logical, if not proven to be, energy cannot be created or destroyed, so what if there is an energy within us that we have not proven to exist yet ?? Strange Anyways, Lightening cannot concievably work within the boundries of science, the average bolt of lightening has a PD of around 100 Million Volts, and seeing as in air electricity can only arc across a distance of 1mm/1000v, well, you do the math. The thunder you hear is actually the air exploding as the temperature shoots up by such a high amount. sorry Right Dog, Just do another Oijja board or whatever they are called and ask for a bigger ghost bully to come round and get rid of your original one. And basic physics could only apply to the dimensions we are aware of or can prove. I dont see the existence of other dimensions in which our concept of time and distance are any more unlikely than our own actual existence. Look at the ridiculously long odds on us having appeared at all for no obvious reason, why couldnt there be loads of other conscious beings existing alongside us? Getting back to dogs immediate problem, have you considered the suggestion made above about contacting the church nearby? Maybe they have heard of similar events? I like to think I am rational but would, even if as a placebo get help off someone who can help. You have a child and should do everything you can to protect him, regardless of what you believe in.
