skintsaint Posted 30 August, 2011 Posted 30 August, 2011 http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport2/hi/football/14708094.stm Le Tissier was Englands last but was overlooked as it isnt the English way to play.
scott_saints Posted 30 August, 2011 Posted 30 August, 2011 Shame Le Tisser wasn't mentioned it really.
SNSUN Posted 30 August, 2011 Posted 30 August, 2011 Adam Lallana - England's future No. 10, winner of the World Cup 2018. (Still as a Saints player...)
Super_Uwe Posted 30 August, 2011 Posted 30 August, 2011 FWIW I think we as fans do shoulder a fair bit of the blame because (as a whole) we just do not really appreciate technical skill and artistry in this country. We love it being played at 100 miles an hour, seeing players getting stuck in, smashing the ball in from 45 yards etc. That's what gets us excited. Passing the ball around patiently between teammates results in the crowd getting on the players backs and demanding they "f***** get in with it". It's always been that way and I can't see it changing for quite a while to be honest. It really highlights how lucky we were to have Le Tiss in our team for so long...
fanimal Posted 30 August, 2011 Posted 30 August, 2011 I saw that and thought the same two things - how we ignored MLT and how good Adam could be!
