CWD Posted 30 August, 2011 Share Posted 30 August, 2011 get down the bookies and put a Swindon win on if we are giving players like Dean a run out. Cheers, but I think I'll trust the likes of Adkins, Hunter and Dodd to know if he's good enough. Why don't we just give Harlee our support yes? Sour Mash Posted 30 August, 2011 Share Posted 30 August, 2011 Guessing he'll most likely be on the bench? Can't see any reason to have a problem with that.

Jez Posted 30 August, 2011 Share Posted 30 August, 2011 I don't think a youngster would be told he will be starting a full day ahead of kick off - he would obviously just be included in the squad, and thus be on the way to Swindon, and have no idea if he would be starting or not. Not like he'd be giving much away to our opponents by saying he was on the bus. How does the "traditional" song thing work then? Is it to be part of the sqaud or the first team? revolution saint Posted 30 August, 2011 Share Posted 30 August, 2011 Didn't NA mention him in an interview last week as having had a good game for the development squad? Would make sense to give him a chance. Think he would be benefit by going out on loan.
saintjay77 Posted 30 August, 2011 Share Posted 30 August, 2011 He is on the bench so he says on @HarleeDean in twitter land. Is it 7 subs for the Carling Cup? Could be a strong squad with some chances for the youth from the bench.

Seaford Saint Posted 30 August, 2011 Share Posted 30 August, 2011 Saw Harley Dean last year in a friendly and was underwhelmed. Ben Reeves in the same game was outstatnding. Still a year is a long time in footy and he might have improved his fitness etc, he hadn't been at the club very long. Some of the donkeys playing in the team that day have already been released. The9 Posted 30 August, 2011 Share Posted 30 August, 2011 Thought the Brum Arsenal final was excellent with 2 sides desperate to win and a crowd really up for it. I like the league cup. Group stage champions league, that's the dullest competition IMO. Oh look, Real Madrid are playing Lyon for the 100th time and the result doesn't much matter, wooo. Oh look, Man Utd are playing some poor teams from poor leagues and could win with their reserves, joy. And not forgetting look, a smaller team has got a decent result against a bigger one, but it doesn't matter because over 6 games they don't stand a chance. I still prefer "why is it called the Champions' League when all these runners up are in it?" personally. Along with "honestly, why would anyone care about this competition?". The Cat Posted 30 August, 2011 Share Posted 30 August, 2011 Saw him play twice this pre-season. He looks very strong, definitely bulked out since I saw him play in midfield in the last pre-season. Main problem I see with him is a lack of pace. Decent player, good tackler, strong in the air. He was one of the CB's who allowed Eastleigh to score 4 past us though!!
