While I agree with your point, Palace fans still miss Fonte, according to my mate who's a Palarse fan, so he must've done a good job at this level before we signed him.

Dann would be quality, but this rumour has as much of a chance of coming true as we had of signing Michael Owen.

But it's not a rumour is it. It's simply a why not considering the clubs bidding.

I just think we'd be wasting our time TBH, when we could be focusing on gettable targets such as Ben Turner, Matt Killganon etc. There isn't long left in the window and I cannot see Dann leaving for anyone but a prem team.

He is also apparently on 30k p/w, which would exceed what we'd pay in wages.

Do we? that's what loads on here assume, but it's not true. It has been stated on several occasions, well documented, that we would be run properly. Yet still we have posters wanting us to 'break the bank'....laughable imo.

This. Immature OP backed by those who can't tell the difference between a console game and the real world.

Birmingham may take one look at their finances and drop the asking price anyway. He's got to be on Premiership wages, and hey'd have him for another six months if they don't sell him tomorrow. Mind you they just rejected a transfer request from Liam Ridgewell, so who knows.

Today's been quieter than I thought, tomorrow will be very exciting.

at some point though, we will have to bring in a player who's quality will raise our wage budget.

but when should we do that? if we are going to sign players on prem wages, should we not wait until our income improves & we are in the prem?

I'm all for bringing in better players, but after our great start to the season & our transfer activity over the last 2 seasons, I am happy for NA/NC to find the right player to sign the right contract. after all were probably not that many players away from a bloated squad, with no chance for youth to come through.
