Ivan Katalinic's 'tache Posted 30 August, 2011 Share Posted 30 August, 2011 http://www.skysports.com/story/0,19528,12876_7138112,00.html Looks like Middlesborough are making a move for Jutkiewicz. Our interest here is noted too; would like to see us make a move for him, especially as he's started the season well.
SuperMikey Posted 30 August, 2011 Share Posted 30 August, 2011 Seems like it's now or never then - I think we will only move for him if our interest in Jay Rod subsides though. I can see us wrapping up a deal for either of them in the next 40hrs.
for_heaven's_Saint Posted 30 August, 2011 Share Posted 30 August, 2011 Well I'm sure if we matched Borough's bid and had it accepted he'd choose us over them.

SNSUN Posted 30 August, 2011 Share Posted 30 August, 2011 Personally he's the striker I'd love to see us bring in. Young, talented, can improve, inexpensive, started the season well, and as a Saints fan would have both a great will to win for the team and possibly wouldn't mind initially about sitting on the bench. If the J Rod deal goes through, great, but I'd love to see L J in a Saints shirt.
Saints foreva Posted 30 August, 2011 Share Posted 30 August, 2011 Isn't he Coventry's penalty taker? If so, It would be interesting to see how many of his goals for Coventry have came from the spot. According to wiki he's only scored 11 goals for Coventry, say 4-6 of those were from the spot then he has a very poor record for goals.
Chez Posted 30 August, 2011 Share Posted 30 August, 2011 he scored 3 from the spot last season out of his 9 goals. Perhaps he spent all his time laying on goals for Marlon King. he's got 2 goals so far this season, neither from the spot. You have to look beyond the goal stats (think Shearer for us). He is just 22 and shows good potential. From the little I've seen of him he looks like he has something about him.
CWD Posted 30 August, 2011 Share Posted 30 August, 2011 He would be my last choice actually. From what I've seen of him I haven't been that impressed. Certainly no better than Connolly or Barnard imo. He is young though, and may benefit from being at a more stable club, and one that he loves. Still, if those better qualified than my self see him as the answer then I'm happy to go with that!

shurlock Posted 30 August, 2011 Share Posted 30 August, 2011 Don't know much about the lad other than he's decent in air, relatively inexpensive and so would represent a low-risk gamble and of course he's a saints fan (which is to some extent irrelevant). Doesn't appear to tick the pace box. What are his strengths/weaknesses? Who does he play like?
Saint Garrett Posted 30 August, 2011 Share Posted 30 August, 2011 I think he'd be more of a Rickie back up rather that someone to play alonside him. Though im not 100% sure of that...
SNSUN Posted 30 August, 2011 Share Posted 30 August, 2011 Brum, Boro and 1 more. Have we actually shown interest in him though - I've lost track on who we've been geninely in for and who was simply rumoured by people on here. Get him in. We'd have the upper hand with an accepted bid.

S-Clarke Posted 30 August, 2011 Share Posted 30 August, 2011 I think if we really wanted this guy we'd have got him earlier, I wouldn't give up hope on Jay Rod just yet - I think it's a good sign that all Southampton rumours are ''quiet'', usually means something is imminent these days. I think everyone was resigned to the fact that Jack Cork wasn't coming, then all of a sudden within a day it was all done. Tomorrow will be exciting IMO. There's surely not enough greasy spoons in the city to cope with that fat f**k.
Saint-Armstrong Posted 31 August, 2011 Share Posted 31 August, 2011 I've read in a few places now, Saints in for Celtic centre-back Jos Hooiveld, it's been reported that Jos wanted a move. Apparently Saints, Palace and Coventry all interested. http://sport.stv.tv/football/scottish-premier/celtic/268230-jos-hooiveld-hoping-for-deadline-day-move/
