Nathaniel Clyne

Fully accept any cautiousness you may have towards this thread due to the **** up of me posting about Baldock and Sam Sodje but they where reiterated snippets given to me. The news 110% coming from Nick Harvey. I will accept any banter or scepticism as they never materialised.

This isn't me blowing my own trumpet but I have past on info with regards to Jack Cork, Lambert, Elliot Ward and Jaidi. Information I recieve is from people in football with the exception of Rickie's move as it was the one day I was in the office at Staplewood. So I do know to post with caution.

I have been told Saints have made an approach to Palace with refgards to their RB Clyne. This was passed on to me by a Palace fan that currently works for Fulham in their foundation.

Just want to share..

Cue the arse tearing from Saint Stevo

Well we'll see. At the moment I'm sure you won't mind me saying that I am somewhat sceptical of supposed ITKers. I'm sick of having my expectations built up only to be dashed!

He is a VERY good player. Would be very pleased if this is true. Could imagine it being pricey though. 2 million?

More I reckon. Mind you, he only has 12 months left on his contract.

Would be amazing IF true. People creaming themselves over Danns when their real star is Clyne. Thought there were prem teams sniffing around him?

I'm really hoping that with the open training session on Thursday that we have a few surprises to spring, and I wouldn't be shocked if we ended up bringing in 3 players of real quality and Clyne would certainly fit in with that if true.

Well, it wouldn't make sense to hold an open session like that the day after the window shuts if they have nothing to show off. Then again the intention could be a chance for fans to get an up close look at Cork, De Ridder and Fox

True. I just can't see why they would want to show those 3 off to the fans when we're already five games into the season. Maybe Fox because he has only joined recently but Cork and De Ridder have made numerous appearances in pre-season and the opening six fixtures. Something must be going on behind closed doors. (Hopefully)

Has his foot in a protective boot and is a longway from fitness, saw him for myself up at Palace on Saturday,as i was at their game as a guest.

He would not pass a medical at the moment.

Do you know if its a broken metatarsal? 6-8 weeks from the time of the break (early August)? That's what the press has been reporting. If so, wouldn't be too serious.

Pretty sure that it is a Metatarsal Injury which he did in a pre season friendly at the start of August, expected out for 6-8 weeks so probably not back till Mid September at the earliest.

Hm. I'm kind of doubtful about this one purely based on his ability level being...well...high to say the least. He's a great young talent and I'd be surprised if we're the ones to get him rather than a Leicester/West Ham or lower level Premiership club. Having said that, it may be possible that we'll be able to offer him much higher wages than he's on at the moment so fingers crossed.

Still think its BS though. When he makes his move it'll be to a bigger club than us I feel.

After watching the youth team on saturday online, I would have thought they would be fast tracking Stephens into the first team squad this season. I don't know anything about Clyne, but based on the comments on here is sounds the business. Where would that leave Stephens? Would be good to see Stephens in the squad for the Swindon game.

In the squad for Swindon would be nice but my slight concerns on Stephens is his temper, often lost it in that game and wanted fisticuffs once or twice.

As much as I appreciate a good old rumour and especially with your previous posts over the years.

I can't see this being likely, Clyne is still injured and Southampton are very happy with the progress Jack Stephens is making.

Please keep us posted on anything you do hear as I believe your involved at some level?? :S

Is nathaniel a real name?

Maybe they couldn't decide between Nathan or Daniel so merged the two together?

Nathan is the shortened version of Nathaniel.

The question "Is Nathaniel a real name?", is a bit like asking "Is Jonathan a real name?"

With all due respect, I know Nick Harvey too and he is a very professional and dedicated guy who I would doubt very much would go around telling people potential transfers. Personally I think it would be great signing but I dont understand why Nick would reveal this, especially as most staff have signed legal documents stopping them sharing any information about the club in public

Clyne is very highly rated and several decent PL teams have been linked with him. However, a busted foot may mean he slips past them in this window.

Would be something of a coup if we did sign him and a very welcome addition as many seem unconvinced by our current RB situation.

Now, here's the good bit .. CP would be a perfect home for Punch in a p/exchange deal. Didn't he score a hat trick (for Millwall) against them last year, so they'll probably think he's good, and isn't he a native of that neck of the woods as well?

Perfect move for everybody ...
