spyinthesky Posted 28 August, 2011 Share Posted 28 August, 2011 Sorry if it has been covered elsewhere but did anyone hear the Everton fan who had been at the game (cant remember for what reason) but was waxing lyrical about the excitement and quality of Championship football and was highly positive about our contribution
Turkish Posted 28 August, 2011 Share Posted 28 August, 2011 Yes I heard it driving back. Was saying what a great side to watch we are. Really positive saying what a great game it was, how good we were and what a great job Nige had done.

Crab Lungs Posted 28 August, 2011 Share Posted 28 August, 2011 He's wrong, so wrong. Cortese is ruining this club and this defeat is the symbolisation of the first of the wheels coming off. We need a fan on the board, now.

We need a fan on the board, now. How true.......................lets get those quiz nights back on the table.I remember when Saints were a local club.Mediocre comedians got paid a fortune for wandering around the pitch at half-time.Legends got paid 5 figure sums for yapping in the corporate boxes. We are doomed. The only thing that will save us is a fan/legend takeover. Enough of this professionalism ,this being at the top of table, this winning thing.I want my club back.I want this vague, vague hope I might be the chosen one THE fanontheboard. I am also seeing Big Lawrie as figurehead Chairman, the Walcott..I mean the OXO transfer money should cover that with some spare cash left over for a club historian. Can anyone think of anyone suitable ? Edited 28 August, 2011 by manji
pap Posted 28 August, 2011 Share Posted 28 August, 2011 When Moyes transitioned from his role at Preston to his new job at Everton, there was a joke going around. Q : "Why was David Moyes appointed manager of Everton?" A : "Because he knows his way to all the First Division grounds"

Could have chosen any one of the many bed-wetting threads

Crab Lungs Posted 29 August, 2011 Share Posted 29 August, 2011 Interesting post that .. If we gave you the job .. Do you think you could do a better job than Cortese..or pick better sides than Adkins ? Haha, it was all very tongue in cheek Dave. I think you'll find I'm one of quite a few on here who are bit perplexed by all the bleating about insignificant things like programme front covers, car park payments etc. Seriously, some people really, really don't understand just how good we've got it and how lucky we are... Viking Warrior Posted 29 August, 2011 Share Posted 29 August, 2011 I agree Manji. I nominate Nick Illingsworth to be the fan on the board. He is the poeples choice the voice of the fans !!!!!!!! saintfully Posted 29 August, 2011 Share Posted 29 August, 2011 At last someone else has noticed the futility of trying to get into the Prem when we haven't even got a club historian on the books. Bloody amateurs! If only someone could think of the right person - you know, who deserves his completely impartial unbiased opinion to be heard and respected. I love what is happening at Southampton at the moment. I am proud to be a saints fan again. Some of the football we are playing is outstanding and I have many non saints fans saying we are playing great stuff.
