Never change a winning team...

Wrong, imo.

You should change the starting 11 in accordance to who the opposition is.

Play to your strengths and expose the weakness of the opposition,it should not matter if the last result was a win.

De Ridder and Fox to start please.

Spirited effort yesterday it seems, now have the courage of your convictions and do a little tinkering with the squad.

Forget the consolidation,go all out for promotion, spend some cash and act in a decisive manner in the transfer market please, our supposed targets are deminishing.

Very good pionts tally thus far,now push on.

Well done Nigel Adkins and and the squad, now lets see how you bounce back from defeat.

Never change a winning team until you have their replacements ready… I think Adkins has introduced the newbies well. I certainly agree with consistency but we could do with a better CB, who frankly could walk into this side now.

A new striker will promote competition but need not be played immediately.

A new midfielder need not start for sometime!!

Nice to be reinforcing success on our terms, rather than taking whoever we can get.

….I feel sorry for Swindon on Tuesday! I agree with hypo, we shall see what they are made of!

To be fair, we are still rebuilding. Almost there, I grant you, but not quite. I think one major change is needed at the back, but anyone else is simply being bought (or brought-on from the youth) to add quality.

Adding quality is a super position to be in. I think all we need is one CB and we can then add that quality, when it suits at the right price.

But, the basic premise of this thread is correct from Legod and Adrian… consistent selection makes a massive difference, it was of course WGS's 'secret' when he was here.

I'd go along with that Robbie---

"Never change a winning team" is a nonsense strategy.

Anyone that thinks otherwise, please answer this question...?

Fonte and Lallana miss a game due to suspension, Saints used Martin and Holmes as their replacements and they luckily hold onto a 1-0 lead at home against Doncaster Rovers, with Martin and Holmes playing poorly. Next game is against West Ham away, would you seriously stick by the "never change a winning team" philosophy and not play Lallana and Fonte even if they are fully fit and available?

I don't disagree (in principle)..but just how would you have avoided defeat yesterday ..and who would you have played instead..?
