THEVMAN Posted 30 August, 2011 Posted 30 August, 2011 Nice one, I guess without a game for a week or so it makes sense for him to play - he's going to have enough rest anyway.Exactly, but i think he would like to play every game anyway just loves it.
S-Clarke Posted 30 August, 2011 Posted 30 August, 2011 Exactly, but i think he would like to play every game anyway just loves it. Alot of footballers should look up to Adam and his attitude. You can see how much he loves playing just by his performances, you get many players who just strut their stuff for the ££££££ but Adam looks like a totally different breed and it's refreshing to see.
Window Cleaner Posted 30 August, 2011 Posted 30 August, 2011 Southampton: Bartosz Bialkowski; Frazer Richardson, Jonathan Forte, Dan Seabourne, Dan Harding; Jack Cork, Guly Do Prado, Aaron Martin, Morgan Schneiderlin; Adam Lallana (Capt), Lee Holmes no Lambert then, must be wrong.Probably Fonte and not Forte though.
S-Clarke Posted 30 August, 2011 Posted 30 August, 2011 great to see Lallana as captain, I reckon he's got that role nailed on in the future.
Dalek2003 Posted 30 August, 2011 Posted 30 August, 2011 Southampton: Bartosz Bialkowski; Frazer Richardson, Jonathan Forte, Dan Seabourne, Dan Harding; Jack Cork, Guly Do Prado, Aaron Martin, Morgan Schneiderlin; Adam Lallana (Capt), Lee Holmes no Lambert then, must be wrong. Now that s an interesting line up. No Lambert, off to Rochdale possibly ?
View From The Top Posted 30 August, 2011 Posted 30 August, 2011 Now that s an interesting line up. No Lambert, off to Rochdale possibly ? What the fu ck are you on about?
Dazza82 Posted 30 August, 2011 Posted 30 August, 2011 Southampton: Bartosz Bialkowski; Frazer Richardson, Jonathan Forte, Dan Seabourne, Dan Harding; Jack Cork, Guly Do Prado, Aaron Martin, Morgan Schneiderlin; Adam Lallana (Capt), Lee Holmes no Lambert then, must be wrong.Probably Fonte and not Forte though. Bialkowski Richardson Seaborne Martin Harding Lallana Cork Schneiderlin Holmes Forte Guly Would be my guess
SuperMikey Posted 30 August, 2011 Posted 30 August, 2011 Forte and Guly up front...could be interesting. Might be a good partnership. No sign of Barnard though - is he still injured?
S-Clarke Posted 30 August, 2011 Posted 30 August, 2011 Now that s an interesting line up. No Lambert, off to Rochdale possibly ? erm yes.
S-Clarke Posted 30 August, 2011 Posted 30 August, 2011 So that will be... -------------------------BART RICHARDSON-----MARTIN-----SEABORNE-----HARDING GULY------SCHNEIDERLIN-----CORK----------HOLMES ------------------FORTE-----LALLANA--------------- I reckon it's Gully up top, Lallana on the left and Holmes on the right.
SuperMikey Posted 30 August, 2011 Posted 30 August, 2011 I reckon it's Gully up top, Lallana on the left and Holmes on the right. Having seen Dazza's estimation of the line-up, i've edited mine. Makes more sense. Almost forgot that Guly was a striker!
shurlock Posted 30 August, 2011 Posted 30 August, 2011 I reckon it's Gully up top, Lallana on the left and Holmes on the right. Think AL will be on the right; but won't be surprised if they swap sides and Forte drops right sometimes. A very fluid interesting formation.

Got Martin and Forte trying out new positions I see!
Dazza82 Posted 30 August, 2011 Posted 30 August, 2011 Or ------------Bialkowski Richardson Seaborne Martin Harding ----------Cork---Schneiderlin--------- Forte--------------------------Holmes ------------Lallana--------------- ----------------------Guly---------
S-Clarke Posted 30 August, 2011 Posted 30 August, 2011 Subs - Davis, Fonte, Lambert, Hammond, Reeves, Dean, Hoskins Surprised not to see Chaplow involved...?
Window Cleaner Posted 30 August, 2011 Posted 30 August, 2011 Any idea of who's on the bench? Substitutes: Kelvin Davis (GK), Jose Fonte, Dean Hammond, Rickie Lambert, Ben Reeves, Harley Dean, Sam Hoskins
beavis17 Posted 30 August, 2011 Posted 30 August, 2011 Subs - Davis, Fonte, Lambert, Hammond, Reeves, Dean, Hoskins Surprised not to see Chaplow involved...? I guess that means Dickson is off...maybe Barnard on loan too?
Saint Charlie Posted 30 August, 2011 Posted 30 August, 2011 Great to see AL captain the side. Strong team, expect a win.
S-Clarke Posted 30 August, 2011 Posted 30 August, 2011 I guess that means Dickson is off...maybe Barnard on loan too? I think Barnard is still injured, that's all I can think of tbh. If he is going out on loan then we must have a striker joining tommorow.
S-Clarke Posted 30 August, 2011 Posted 30 August, 2011 No Butterfield also. Interesting, what with the rumour about us offering Butterfield and cash for Clyne. (albeit only on twitter)
SuperMikey Posted 30 August, 2011 Posted 30 August, 2011 I'd like to see Hoskins get a run-out, he's a good prospect.
shurlock Posted 30 August, 2011 Posted 30 August, 2011 Subs - Davis, Fonte, Lambert, Hammond, Reeves, Dean, Hoskins Surprised not to see Chaplow involved...? I guess one established midfielder, Hammond, is enough. Very good that Cork and Schneiderlin are starting - given people have been talking the pairing up, would have been a wasted opportunity not to have gone with it for the sake of resting Cork or giving Chaplow a run out.
S-Clarke Posted 30 August, 2011 Posted 30 August, 2011 Swindon team for anyone that's interested: - Swindon Town: Phil Smith; Paul Caddis (Capt), Alberto Comazzi, Aden Flint, Callum Kennedy; Matt Ritchie, Simon Ferry, Jonathan Smith, Lander Gabilondo; Alan Connell, Leon Clarke Hardly anyone I remember from their L1 days.
Appy Posted 30 August, 2011 Posted 30 August, 2011 Swindon team for anyone that's interested: - Swindon Town: Phil Smith; Paul Caddis (Capt), Alberto Comazzi, Aden Flint, Callum Kennedy; Matt Ritchie, Simon Ferry, Jonathan Smith, Lander Gabilondo; Alan Connell, Leon Clarke Hardly anyone I remember from their L1 days. Shrivvy Saint Posted 30 August, 2011 Posted 30 August, 2011 Nigel having a good chat to fans. No Lambert in squad.
SuperMikey Posted 30 August, 2011 Posted 30 August, 2011 Caddis is a decent right-back, he's like a younger version of Butterfield except he's still got his pace. Can see the skate c*nt Ritchie getting the winner tonight...
Appy Posted 30 August, 2011 Posted 30 August, 2011 Nigel having a good chat to fans. No Lambert in squad. Lambert on the bench.
S-Clarke Posted 30 August, 2011 Posted 30 August, 2011 Nigel having a good chat to fans. No Lambert in squad. Let's hope he drops some transfer hints.
Saint Fan CaM Posted 30 August, 2011 Posted 30 August, 2011 Let's hope he drops some transfer hints. Like, "don't hold your breath"? lol
dubai_phil Posted 30 August, 2011 Posted 30 August, 2011 OK I've passed a late fitness test, the meds haven't knocked me out yet. BUT after Saturday we need to make some changes So PLEASE can someone else start the match thread tonight! cheers
ericofarabia Posted 30 August, 2011 Posted 30 August, 2011 A chance to try some different attacking combo's and possibly build up Johnno Quicks confidence with a couple of goals!!
Window Cleaner Posted 30 August, 2011 Posted 30 August, 2011 I'd like to see Hoskins get a run-out, he's a good prospect. perhaps he will when we're 5 goals in front,'bout half-time then.
Legod Third Coming Posted 30 August, 2011 Posted 30 August, 2011 Now that s an interesting line up. No Lambert, off to Rochdale possibly ? Hahah. You crack me up son. Since you've given up your OCD about Hoddle. You haven't been reborn have you by any chance??
ericofarabia Posted 30 August, 2011 Posted 30 August, 2011 OK I've passed a late fitness test, the meds haven't knocked me out yet. BUT after Saturday we need to make some changes So PLEASE can someone else start the match thread tonight! cheers Glad they managed to operate on the correct leg!! Drinking or sober tonight? I've had some early doors Old Specky, but up early doors 2mrw so approaching curfew time!! Yet another game sober .... not been a good start to the season for me in that respect!! Lets give the Yellow shirt a good baptism.
SNSUN Posted 30 August, 2011 Posted 30 August, 2011 I'd mention that the team out there highlights the need for a striker, but hey, we all know it already. COME ON YOU SAINTS!
ericofarabia Posted 30 August, 2011 Posted 30 August, 2011 Hahah. You crack me up son. Since you've given up your OCD about Hoddle. You haven't been reborn have you by any chance?? Abducted by aliens and a doppleganger left in his place?
Window Cleaner Posted 30 August, 2011 Posted 30 August, 2011 Thought Fox would be involved. all together now.............cup tied

Legod Third Coming Posted 30 August, 2011 Posted 30 August, 2011 I'd mention that the team out there highlights the need for a striker, but hey, we all know it already. COME ON YOU SAINTS! And if Forte scores a hattrick your have your striker.
Legod Third Coming Posted 30 August, 2011 Posted 30 August, 2011 Abducted by aliens and a doppleganger left in his place? More like reincarnation. Maybe he was a cripple in a past life...
Sour Mash Posted 30 August, 2011 Posted 30 August, 2011 Strange line-up in my opinion. Fair few players who could really have done with a run out not even getting a look in. Leaves room for plenty of specualtion anyway!
SNSUN Posted 30 August, 2011 Posted 30 August, 2011 And if Forte scores a hattrick your have your striker. I think he has goals in him, but I still view him more as a winger. Guly, in my mind also, is an attacking midfielder too. We need one more out and out striker.
