Saint-Armstrong Posted 27 August, 2011 Posted 27 August, 2011 Lets tear them a new one? What team would you play and will there be any new faces?
markr27 Posted 27 August, 2011 Posted 27 August, 2011 Ben Reeves may play if Harding is ruled out, and Dickson is destined for the exit door? (Fox cuptied)
Littlelat17 Posted 27 August, 2011 Posted 27 August, 2011 Think there will be starts for Bart, Butterfield, Martin, Dickson, De Ridder, Chaplow, Schneiderlin, Holmes, Forte Reckon Fonte, Hammond and Cork will all be left out, with one of Lambert or Guly starting up front with other on bench with Lallana amongst others
Panda Posted 27 August, 2011 Posted 27 August, 2011 Lets tear them a new one? Where on earth has this terrible expression come from? Are we going to use it for every game now?
The Fat Controller Posted 28 August, 2011 Posted 28 August, 2011 Full first team, get that loss behind us and stuff Swindon
Norm Posted 28 August, 2011 Posted 28 August, 2011 Where on earth has this terrible expression come from? Are we going to use it for every game now? Panda, I agree 100%! It is disrespectful to any opponent and, in my view, arrogant to assume that we are that good! I'm more than happy with posters being confident but this phrase is tosh!
Norm Posted 28 August, 2011 Posted 28 August, 2011 Any suggestions for car parking near stadium? It's a long time since I was at Swindon FC.
North Wilts Saint Posted 28 August, 2011 Posted 28 August, 2011 Any suggestions for car parking near stadium? It's a long time since I was at Swindon FC. Any of the roads off (to the east off) Drove Road, which is off the magic roundabout should do you
adethorne Posted 28 August, 2011 Posted 28 August, 2011 Loads of street parking about 5-10 minute walk this side of ground. Follow signs to town centre from junc 16 M4 then park anywhere once pass college if you reach burger king you've gone to far for street parking. but the ground which you cant miss has large car park plus match day parking at nearby school or just past ground is parking at cricket club with cheap bar. loads of council car parks in town centre 5-10 min walk. Merlin pub is best away fans boozer, at magic roundabout turn left signposted Drove Road, Swindon, Wiltshire, SN1 3AF its about 300 yds on right 5 mins from ground. all pubs in town or on way from station won't let you in, especially in colours. saints have about 2000 tickets available on night priced £15
Norm Posted 28 August, 2011 Posted 28 August, 2011 Thank you both for the replies. I'm taking my grandson to his second ever Saints away game. His first was at Anfield, where he was mascot. We both go to all the home games.
The Fat Controller Posted 28 August, 2011 Posted 28 August, 2011 M4 j15 is best route in to town, best to park at Swindon CC.
Neil Posted 28 August, 2011 Posted 28 August, 2011 Would be nice to beat Swindon for a change, we owe them one. Would also be great to tonk them by hitting five or six, something that is possible the way we're playing at the moment. Then we can forget about Leicester and go into the break on a high. What pubs are people going to in Swindon?
Dazza82 Posted 28 August, 2011 Posted 28 August, 2011 Bart Butterfield Fonte Martin Harding De ridder Chaplow Schniederlin Holmes Forte Guly
Thedelldays Posted 28 August, 2011 Posted 28 August, 2011 my team bart butters martin seaborne fox de ridder chappers morgan holms connolly lambert with time on the pitch for forte dickson lallana
shurlock Posted 28 August, 2011 Posted 28 August, 2011 my team bart butters martin seaborne fox de ridder chappers morgan holms connolly lambert with time on the pitch for forte dickson lallana Fox is cup-tied.

landford.saint Posted 28 August, 2011 Posted 28 August, 2011 Mrs LS and I are intending to go, from post above would appear plenty of tickets on the gate. Is this definate?
Saint Garrett Posted 28 August, 2011 Posted 28 August, 2011 Cant see us selling out somehow, i expect you wont have a problem getting in on the gate.
Toomer Posted 29 August, 2011 Posted 29 August, 2011 Back to winning ways and get Saturday of the system.
WealdSaint Posted 29 August, 2011 Posted 29 August, 2011 I would rest Connolly and give Bart a game . Otherwise leave alone.
SaintRobbie Posted 29 August, 2011 Posted 29 August, 2011 Can you buy away tickets at Swindon? Probably a daft question, but it's been a while!
AussieDog Posted 29 August, 2011 Posted 29 August, 2011 Try something different....rest the key players such as Davis, Fonte, Lallana and Lambert. No point risking injuries
oldsarum Posted 29 August, 2011 Posted 29 August, 2011 can't work out why people do not check the O/S for ticket details http://www.saintsfc.co.uk/page/NewsDetail/0,,10280~2431770,00.html ticket office opening hours given on seperate article
the saint in winchester Posted 29 August, 2011 Posted 29 August, 2011 my team bart butters martin seaborne dicko de ridder chappers morgan holms barn yard forte with game changers on the bench to win if first 11 struggling connolly cork lallana
Minsk Posted 29 August, 2011 Posted 29 August, 2011 my team bart butters martin seaborne dicko de ridder chappers morgan holms barn yard forte with game changers on the bench to win if first 11 struggling connolly cork lallana That's the team I would start with as well. If Barney still isn't fit then Guly alongside Forte.
Evil Monkey Posted 29 August, 2011 Posted 29 August, 2011 I would rest Connolly and give Bart a game . Otherwise leave alone. Not sure how Bart would do upfront.
supersonic Posted 29 August, 2011 Posted 29 August, 2011 Does anyone know for definite how many tickets we have available on the night?
The Fat Controller Posted 29 August, 2011 Posted 29 August, 2011 We can have 800 in Arkells stand and 1100 on Stratton bank uncovered behind the goal
THEVMAN Posted 29 August, 2011 Posted 29 August, 2011 I know Adam would like to start the Swindon game especially as theres no game saturday, couple of players got knocks at Leicester but not sure who.
dubai_phil Posted 29 August, 2011 Posted 29 August, 2011 Hope I can sit at my laptop OK tomorrow, been in for knee surgery today and feel worse than if I'd spent a week locked in nottarf krap. Need to keep the squad players match fit, would like to see us try something else up front & rest Rickie & Connolly but I expect RL will want to play as does Adam. Time to start the new lads Fox & de Ridder but I guess Fox likely to be cup tied is he? Ain't got the strength to read anything else
Clifford Nelson Posted 29 August, 2011 Posted 29 August, 2011 Hope I can sit at my laptop OK tomorrow, been in for knee surgery today and feel worse than if I'd spent a week locked in nottarf krap. Time to start the new lads Fox & de Ridder but I guess Fox likely to be cup tied is he? Ain't got the strength to read anything else Fox is indeed cuptied, and what have we really got up front apart from RL and DC? Barnard probably isn't fit, since he hasn't appeared on the bench, and Doble is at Bournemouth. Guly with RL and de Ridder on the right? When you start turning the possibilities over it looks obvious that we need another choice.
Lighthouse Posted 30 August, 2011 Posted 30 August, 2011 (edited) I'd go with Bart Butters - Martin - Seaborne - Dickson Knight - Chaplow - Morgan - Holmes Forte - Lambert Assuming Barnard is still injured. Edited 30 August, 2011 by Lighthouse
BlakeySFC Posted 30 August, 2011 Posted 30 August, 2011 Not really bothered either way if we win or lose this. Hope we win, but if not i won't exactly smash my local convenience store up.
SuperMikey Posted 30 August, 2011 Posted 30 August, 2011 (edited) I would pick: ---------------------------BART------------------------ BUTTERFIELD------MARTIN------SEABORNE------HARDING DE RIDDER------HAMMOND------CHAPLOW---------FORTE ---------------------GULY------LAMBERT--------------- Maybe too many changes but can't risk any injuries in a competition that doesn't really mean too much tbh, would rather we concentrate on the league this season. Edited 30 August, 2011 by SuperMikey
The Fat Controller Posted 30 August, 2011 Posted 30 August, 2011 Want us to hammer Swindon, as i live and work there I'd go for this team Bart Butterfield, Fonte, Martin, Harding Chaplow, Schniederlin, Hammond, Holmes De Ridder. Lallana
Avenue Saint Posted 30 August, 2011 Posted 30 August, 2011 Bart Butterfield Fonte Martin Dickson De Ridder Chaplow Morgan Holmes Guly Barnard with bench of Davis Cork Lallana Connolly Lambert
farawaysaint Posted 30 August, 2011 Posted 30 August, 2011 Want us to hammer Swindon, as i live and work there I'd go for this team Bart Butterfield, Fonte, Martin, Harding Chaplow, Schniederlin, Hammond, Holmes De Ridder. Lallana No offence meant but considering Lallana's erratic finishing and De ridder's poor goal scoring recordn why are they upfront?
Horley CTFC Saint Posted 30 August, 2011 Posted 30 August, 2011 Thank you both for the replies. I'm taking my grandson to his second ever Saints away game. His first was at Anfield, where he was mascot. We both go to all the home games. Hope he's tall otherwise you may need to get down the front! All those people standing in the stand - I can see the irony :/
Saint-Reece Posted 30 August, 2011 Posted 30 August, 2011 Harlee Dean in squad for tonight maybe...? HarleeDean harlee dean Route to Swindon. Not looking forward to singing. .#nervous 4 minutes ago Favorite Retweet Reply
egg Posted 30 August, 2011 Posted 30 August, 2011 (edited) Makes sense to give Dean a chance, probably alongside Martin. I wonder whether we may see another couple of youngsters. Seems little point in playing Dickson if he is on his way, so maybe a debut for Reeves. Edited 30 August, 2011 by egg .
Genk Posted 30 August, 2011 Posted 30 August, 2011 Tickets down at the office have now all been sold. If going to the game, please buy from Swindon.
JRM Posted 30 August, 2011 Posted 30 August, 2011 there will be no problem at all paying on the night for those who were wondering, the stratton bank holds a couple of thousand if needed so you can spread out and stand / sit as whichever suits you. i went along to Swindon v Oxford with a swindon mate last week, they were dreadful and could hardly string a few passes together, choosing instead to lump it forward for their forwards to chase, a poor Oxford side beat them 2-1 exposing swindon's weakness to set pieces. My Swindon mate says fans quickly losing patience with the team but sticking by Di Canio, if we get the first goal tonight i think we will be ok, but will need to be physical so shouldn't play too many youngsters, definitely have Chaplow in the side.
dubai_phil Posted 30 August, 2011 Posted 30 August, 2011 Would love to see Stephens get a game tonight. OK sorry, would love to hear about Stephens getting a game on Saintsplayer tonight Uh oh, it's not a League game. Will Saintsplayer have commentary? Solent often doesn't work online overseas
