Everyone knows we need a centre back, or even 2. Just take a look at the Ipswich game, and the shambolic end to the Barnsley game, as well as today! It does not take a manager of a football team to work this one out. Also I am not really sure we need a striker and if we do it needs to be someone as good as we have got already.

I do not want us to go out and spend silly money on a player though, just because we have the cash. Panic buys never work, and we have to remember that there are many clubs after the same players. the club need to want to move the player on, and in many cases have another player lined up to replace them. The player also needs to want to make the move and the agent needs to try and get the best deal for the player as well. Not an easy process.

I think it is good that we are not flashing the cash, just because we have it, and it is important to find a player who wants to play for Southampton Football Club, and is not rocking the boat as he earns more than the others. The team is well balanced with players that want to be here and play for each other.

Please remember that mis-management was the reason we went into administration just over 2 years ago!!

We will bring in another centre back before the window closes and in plenty of time for the Forest game. If not we will bring in a loan player, but the important thing is he has to be right for Southampton FC. If we do not sign anyone that is because we have not been able to find anyone for the right money, who is any better.

One step at a time lads, I was happy for mid table this season as still will be, and then promotion next. Playoffs this season would be a dream, but lets keep our feet on the floor, and will will get back where we belong, in the Premier League.
