Ade Posted 27 August, 2011 Share Posted 27 August, 2011 Can anything be done to speed up the forum? It seems when there are more users than usual on the site it bogs down - generally match days. I'm not a paid up member, and don't post often (I cant be bothered to get into any arguements with people), but you can rest assured that I wont be paying until the forum speeds up to something like it should. jayrivers Posted 27 August, 2011 Share Posted 27 August, 2011 Isn't is better when you're a full member? Did I read something about that somewhere?
niceandfriendly Posted 27 August, 2011 Share Posted 27 August, 2011 Isn't is better when you're a full member? Did I read something about that somewhere? No, not at all. It's slow for every game, no matter if you're a full member or not.
RobM Posted 27 August, 2011 Share Posted 27 August, 2011 No, not at all. It's slow for every game, no matter if you're a full member or not. Sad but true. I thought the membership fees were going to fund the hosting needed to improve things, but it doesn't seem to be the case.
Ade Posted 27 August, 2011 Author Share Posted 27 August, 2011 I'd be more than happy to become a full member if it guaranteed faster response times on matchday threads. I don't think I'd be too happy paying especially if, as you say, the fees were supposed to be used to improve the speed of the forum, which doesn't seem to have happened....... VectisSaint Posted 27 August, 2011 Share Posted 27 August, 2011 Isn't is better when you're a full member? Did I read something about that somewhere? Nope, was a total waste of time again today for much of the 2nd half. God help us when we get back to the PL and all the plastics come back and log on. Spudders Posted 27 August, 2011 Share Posted 27 August, 2011 Wasn't this all discussed in a thread a couple of weeks ago? To sum it up quickly, as far as I remember, the hamsters that run on the wheels that generate the power for this forum are old and tired, also the wheels are old and rusty. Through his work, Steve has recently managed to arrange some new beefy young hamsters that are eager to run on some big new shiny wheels that will be connected to the forum. They'll even be fed and looked after by someone else (maybe like pet shop owners) who have the proper know how to get the hamsters to run fast and perform well. Once they get going and TSF is connect to the wheels, we'll all live happily ever after. (At least I think that was it). Think it’ll be in the next couple of weeks. dune Posted 27 August, 2011 Share Posted 27 August, 2011 and what do you know about it? Not much. But lets be honest Baj and Steve Grant have been saying it'd get better for ages and it never does. Therefore the only conclusion that can be reached is that they don't know what they're doing.

Minsk Posted 27 August, 2011 Share Posted 27 August, 2011 Maybe posting and viewing could be limited to full members only on match days? Fully agree, and have mentioned this a number of times myself - as have others. Apparently its too diffficult to do as it would mean Steve or Baj having to come on here prior to matches to sort out..........

Of I couldn't, but that doesn't excuse how poor the forum has consistently been during games. I thought the whole point of paying 5 pounds was to fix the problem. It hasn't worked. We have regular threads about saintsplayer occasionally not performing, yet with tsw it never performs well during matches.

Edit; and before people start kicking off about this thread being closed, why not try actually clicking on the link and reading the post.
