They are beyond a joke. I cannot wait to leave. Once in a blue moon I'll manage to actually get hold of 3G on my iPhone aswell, rendering the whole idea of the iPhone pointless. As for signal, I heard about the crossover with t-mobile and was given a number to text. I was sat in my garden and had 2 bars signal, sent text, received confirmation and at that very moment lost signal. I thought it was just setting itself or something...

3 months it's taken so far. How long does it usually take?

Changed from Orange a couple of months ago. Coverage was rubbish with only a minor improvement when crossed with t-mobile

that is because (i think) they are one of the same company now

I am thinking of getting an ipad2 sim free and getting my own sim deal

was torn between 3 and orange, this has made up my mind

You should consider giff gaff for the data element of the deal ;)

I ditched orange last February having been without service from them for over 12 days. Each time I called them they gave the same bull**** line about the hardware being down and that it would definitely be fixed by midday the following day.

I eventually emailed their managing director and told him he could stick his contract and that I wouldn't be paying them another penny. He replied with some waffle about contract small print as was expected. I told him that in my opinion over 12 days with no service what so ever was unacceptable and that I'd happily stand up in court and explain my concerns should he wish to take me there. I've since had two letters from them asking for the money owed - about £70 - and have ignored both. They don't seem to be chasing the money especially fiercely!

Been on O2 for years. Never had an 'outage' problem and get a fair signal over most of the UK, often when friends on other networks have nothing. But to be fair I don't try to donload huge lumps of data...no video etc ...mostly just phon, text and emails - maybe I'd feel different if I did. My attempts to use a dongle with a laptop on the move are not so happy unless there is a strong signal.

Still got no bloody signal - thank god for wifi.

Spoke to their twitter help line, which is excellent btw, and apparently a 3G tower is out and not active again until

3 Sept.

My wife is on orange, with a BB and she has no problems!?!?

Have no problem with Orange and prefer it to Vodafone. I used to be on Vodafone but my nutcase of an ex worked for them at the time, so I changed to Orange and it has stuck since!!

Never had any issues with Orange, been with o2 before and had a few and work phone is on Vodaphone that is quite good.

o2 and Orange have the best perks.

They are all as bad as each other TBH

I'm with O2 as it gives the best signal in the sticks.

Agree with this, you can tell if your neighbours are on vodaphone as they're all outside making calls. That said I have an old school phone that just makes calls and texts - I've no need for anything else.

Was originally on Orange and moved to O2 for a 'good deal'. Coverage was dreadful, 5 bars dropping to zero while stationary, calls cutting out, so went back to Orange. Think I'll try Vodafone - they used to have the best phone coverage for business.

Another observation - I know people on PAYG deals that don't seem to get as good coverage, or text speed as an identical user on a contract. Anyone else notice that?
