Am sure I saw somewhere a while ago that Birmingham making the Europa Group Stage would see our home game shunted to the Sunday on the weekend of 18th/19th Sept.

Can anyone confirm?

Shout....late for a school night......

Is it on Sunday 18th Sept?

And that it should be on Sky/BBC as well then or will it be a normal 3pm KO!?!

FFS WTF ... last I knew was 1720 KO on Sat 17th and rearrangements made to be able to be in pub for then .. let this latest change be a joke please.... don't they realise Europe is less important than NPC FFS.

At least in League One you could make plans!!

Saints official site clearly states match will be Saturday 17th at 5.20pm. I'll be honest, I'd be pretty hacked off if it's changed now as I've literally just booked train tickets to come down to watch it at this time!

The great god Sky has spoken. I doubt that it will be changed.

depends who they are drawn against in their group and if they are home or away.. if they are at home on the thursday it wont be too bad having a sat 520 kick off, but if they are away in some far flung country, they will be knackered

Birmingham are in a Group with with Braga, Club Brugge and Maribor, none of which are particularly odious away trips, to Portugal, Belgium and Slovenia respectively.

I'm in Andalucia anyway so it only bothers me if it ends up not being on satellite tv.

It will be moved.

I suspect that might depend on whether Sky are willing to pay to show it on another date, and how much Birmingham want the free money.

Fair shout and the premier league have a contract allowing games to be moved to the sunday due to european games, you can bet that the football league don't. Hoping we get a tired brum at our place.

@ReadingFC

Reading FC Official

Home fixture against Birmingham is moved back 24 hours due to City's Europa League commitments. Now scheduled for Sun 6th Nov, kick off 3pm.

Not on TV that one, I know.

they are going to end up with a massive fixture back log http://www.bcfc.com/page/News/NewsDetail/0,,10412~2432622,00.html

look how many mid-week games they are already going to have to re-arrange as they clash, this has to be good for us, as their squad just won't be strong to play two games a week for the first half of the season, hopefully they are away to Braga the thursday before they are due to play us

Braga's really not that far away. About a 3 hour flight and then an hour from Porto airport.

still far enough when you have one day to prepare for a game.

anyway, they have Braga at home Thursday before us, so would have thought they'll leave our game as saturday evening. good for us if that is the case.

Yeah, they hadn't sorted out the order of matches when I posted the groups earlier.

Is 5 hours door to door to Braga's ground any worse than playing someone like Middlesbrough and going by road though ? Birmingham have the advantage of not usually having any "long" trips anyway, being in the middle of the country.

It took us 8 hours to get to Blackpool one Friday night before Preston v Saints, it just depends how you schedule the journey - as an example, Birmingham could finish a match at 10pm CET, be back in a hotel in the Southampton area by 3am on the Friday and still have a day and a half to prepare.

Will have to drive down the M4 like Jenson Button to get there on the Saturday, even with a late KO.

You mean get a bad start, trundle around in 13th place and rely on a few lucky tyre changes to get to Brum 1/2 hour after the game starts?

They made Rochdale play league cup on Thursday and then play Saturday last season or poss season before. And they were going to get an extra 2 hours 20 mins rest.

Hate Europa League - dont know anyone who is interested playing in it or watching it and most of all it fcks up Sat 3pm kick offs

PS Lets B ..... for your "where's Eric game ...." you can delete Sat 17 Sept 1720 ... some dingy northern pub in Leigh watching Sky. Also alas my proposed trip darn sarf the week of the Watford game cancelled due Mrs EoA breaking a leg :scared:

Only Burnley away left on the agenda now and that is hanging on by a thread!!
