Verbal Posted 24 August, 2011 Share Posted 24 August, 2011 Steve Jobs has stepped down for health reasons as CEO of Apple. No real surprise, but is this the end of Apple's crushing superiority? Will the must-have electronic baubles like iPad and Macbook Air lose their edge? (PC owners may post but will probably be limited by their poorer keyboard skills.) Whitey Grandad Posted 24 August, 2011 Share Posted 24 August, 2011 It may be that Jobs has been holding the company back with his strange predilections and prejudices.
Colinjb Posted 24 August, 2011 Share Posted 24 August, 2011 Did Steve Jobs have direct control over their quality/testing department? If not, let the scam continue. If yes, then the user easy yet not exactly exceptional hardware will not be quite as good.

SuperMikey Posted 25 August, 2011 Share Posted 25 August, 2011 Well he is ill, so it was inevitable. The only Apple product that I use is my iPod, has no bearing on me whatsoever.

(PC owners may post but will probably be limited by their poorer keyboard skills.) Tim Cook has been running Apple since Janurary, during which time, Apple's stock has risen 60%. Meanwhile, Apple have now launched their most useful iPad yet..... In other news, Apple does in fact make a £600 laptop. Pity they sell the Mugbook for £1000. If there is one reason NEVER to buy Apple, this is it..... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NbxtXa6mpG8&feature=player_embedded ..... and if that didn't convince you, this will Edited 25 August, 2011 by Johnny Bognor

Luckily, you can also buy Apple products on line and avoid all the retarded Americanisms
Johnny Bognor Posted 25 August, 2011 Share Posted 25 August, 2011 (edited) I think Saints missed a trick and you have to lay the blame at Cortese's door. We managed to sell Chamberlain to Arsenal for a reported £15m. Had we sold them an iChambo, we could have got at least £25m for him IMO Edited 25 August, 2011 by Johnny Bognor
Gemmel Posted 25 August, 2011 Share Posted 25 August, 2011 Jobs, stopped the day to day running of the company months ago. His successor was identified before he was diagnosed with his illness and since the day he was diagnosed, hehas been slowly transitioned out. The most shocking thing is verbal he will probably be getting a huge severance chunk spread over the next couple of years Outstanding visionary and businessman and he will have played a siginificant part in making sure his official exit, does not impact the business. CB Saint Posted 25 August, 2011 Share Posted 25 August, 2011 It is an interesting point in Apple's development. Jobs has a unique grasp of what the market wants which will be almost impossible to replicate.

Hmm, but the iChambo won't work on all pitches. Still, we would have got an extra £10m for him!!!!
