In an effort to minimise you being a totally unfunny wind-up merchant, will you take this bet?

You think we'll finish 17th. I don't. So how about this. I'll say we'll finish in 1st place (I don't think we will, but go with it).

If we finish closer to 17th place than 1st place, I will make a £500 donation to a charity of your choice.

Would you like to stand by your convictions?

To be honest you're obsessed with someone on the interweb. Dalek annoys me as well but 500 quid to prove a point? Bonkers.

Fair enough, that's one way of looking at it, and a fair one I'd suggest. But ensuring that £500 goes to a worthwhile charity is another way of looking at it too, which is fair, altruistic, and something I'd do per year anyway.

It's a question of value, I guess.

Gotta be honest Kraken - I think this is exactly what Dalek wants - his name up in lights. I make a point of never responding to him, he was tedious with hoddle and even more tedious with his 17th. But I ain't gonna lose any sleep over him.

The more you feed them. The Daleks, the Charlie Waymans etc, the more they will fish.

I would personally prefer that a mod deletes this thread, I can assure you Kraken that I mean no personal offence when I say that.

None taken at all. Maybe I just don't quite comprehend just how sad the true nature of an internet wind-up merchant is, but it seems like a massive waste of time to me. For me, if you're going to take the time to make outlandish claims which everyone can see and hold you to, then it's good to have a benchmark to hold them to. Maybe just a poor idea on my behalf, I suppose.

I would say (in the nicest posible way) it's naive. You are assuming there is some good in the trolls, they are just there to provoke reaction for their own amusement. The expressions and intent of others are immaterial aside from their own desire for validation.

The funniest thing here is the fact that someone called The Kraken is calling out a Dalek, all we need now is Matt Smith to turn up and it would be a rip-roaring episode of Doctor Who.

But on topic, there is a guy who lives in my block of flats who has exactly the same ridiculous views as Dalek - i.e. a crazed sense of panic and despair that we are not making any signings. In fact, yesterday I bumped into him and he said to me something along the lines of "Fontaine blah blah blah blah Adkins needs to do better blah blah blah we need more signings blah blah blah". I was going to ask how Nige can possibly do any better than five games played, five wins out of five, but then I just decided to ignore him because he is a mental case amoeba-brained buffoon.

He's predicted 17th and that's his opinion. Why give him stick for it? Promoted sides don't always shine like the three did last season.

I think most people respect his opinion but he consistantly rams it down everyones throats every day on more than one occasion. Clearly designed to wind people up.

I think everyone knows is opinion on both hoddle and our predicted performance and dont need to be reminded every few hours.

If my son demonstrated thes traits I would get him tested for autism. FFS

On the subject of Daleks, I met John Levene (Sergeant Benton from UNIT) at the Fleet Air Arm museum's 'Dalek Day' a few weeks ago. Had a long chat with him and he came across as a lovely old chap full of great stories of his time with John Pertwee & Roger Dalgardo ....etc.

You my find my John Levene tale somewhat dull, but I say it's a sight more interesting than the rest of this fred.
