DJ_TOAST Posted 24 August, 2011 Posted 24 August, 2011 hopefully ...short train journey. Does anybody know out of interest if away cup games count towards your away games done when games go to ballot ? ie portsmuff
scott_saints Posted 24 August, 2011 Posted 24 August, 2011 Is it possible to play outstanding cup fixtures in interational breaks if both clubs agree?
Jack Posted 24 August, 2011 Posted 24 August, 2011 Yeah, I reckon Swindon. Also at West Ham. I'm not laughing. Bolton score to bring my acca in, west ham concede twice to kill it for me. Poor.
beatlesaint Posted 24 August, 2011 Posted 24 August, 2011 Is it possible to play outstanding cup fixtures in interational breaks if both clubs agree? All depends on International call-ups......Aldershot will be playing Carlisle next week in their 2nd round game, just said on Sky. I see no reason why we wont play Swindon next week.
benjii Posted 24 August, 2011 Posted 24 August, 2011 I'm not laughing. Bolton score to bring my acca in, west ham concede twice to kill it for me. Poor. That's harsh. Sorry.
scott_saints Posted 24 August, 2011 Posted 24 August, 2011 Hopefully it's on the international break on the Saturday. Would be perfect!! Can't see either team getting any call ups.
beatlesaint Posted 24 August, 2011 Posted 24 August, 2011 Hopefully it's on the international break on the Saturday. Would be perfect!! Can't see either team getting any call ups. Swindon got a League game, no international breaks in Div 1 and 2. You must remember, it was only last year :-)
Jack Posted 24 August, 2011 Posted 24 August, 2011 That's harsh. Sorry. My fault for betting on the league cup. Or betting at all, on recent form.
scott_saints Posted 24 August, 2011 Posted 24 August, 2011 Swindon got a League game, no international breaks in Div 1 and 2. You must remember, it was only last year :-) Ah, good point. I miss those days of no international breaks, and the JPT.
Chris Marsden = Genius Posted 24 August, 2011 Posted 24 August, 2011 Next Tuesday http://www.saintsfc.co.uk/page/Home/0,,10280,00.html
VectisSaint Posted 24 August, 2011 Posted 24 August, 2011 Excellent, a nice evening out in town after work.
Lighthouse Posted 24 August, 2011 Posted 24 August, 2011 Well, I've already been to Swindon twice, seen us get beaten and be completely sh*t on both occasions and I live 5 minutes from Ashton gate. Guess that was always going to happen Anyway, £12.90 return on the train if I book now and it's only 45 minutes away. Third time lucky!!
Saint_Jonny Posted 24 August, 2011 Posted 24 August, 2011 I am petrified of the magic roundabout after my last visit, so I'll have to think about this one....
Appy Posted 24 August, 2011 Posted 24 August, 2011 When's the draw for the 3rd round ? Saturday during Soccer Saturday.
hamster Posted 24 August, 2011 Posted 24 August, 2011 I'd like to see Punch thrown in for this one, give the lad a chance to start afresh and tear them a new one. The tie is ideal for this whichever way it (and his future) goes.

Lighthouse Posted 24 August, 2011 Posted 24 August, 2011 punch won't play, it suits no one to have him cup tied. Nobody buys players for the League Cup. He wont play, but that's mainly because he has burned his bridges with most of the higher order.
Lazlo78 Posted 25 August, 2011 Posted 25 August, 2011 We need to spank Swindon badly to teach them not to hire a fascist b*st*rd as their manager... even their sponsors balked at that appointment: http://www.guardian.co.uk/football/2011/may/21/swindon-di-canio-sponsor-gmb
VectisSaint Posted 25 August, 2011 Posted 25 August, 2011 punch won't play, it suits no one to have him cup tied. Makes sod all difference to teams that are already out of the League Cup, such as QPR, Norwich, Swansea, West Ham, Sunderland etc etc, i.e. the type of teams who might be interested in taking a risk with him
Littlelat17 Posted 25 August, 2011 Posted 25 August, 2011 No news article yet, but tickets are available at £15 for adults on the online tickets page - just bought 2

Might be able to give a lift there and train back if you fancy! Have to wait to see if I have a new saints fan first as other half due date on Saturday!
sfc4prem Posted 25 August, 2011 Posted 25 August, 2011 Just bought 2. Hopefully we sell out the first allocation of 750
100%Red&White Posted 25 August, 2011 Posted 25 August, 2011 Just bought 2. Hopefully we sell out the first allocation of 750 Doesn't matter, we're not getting any more tickets in advance, it's pay-on-the-night. Would think they're only for the seats, they'll only open the terrace if demand is there - as we've taken 3k there on our last couple of visits I would think the terrace will be available.

marc_saint Posted 25 August, 2011 Posted 25 August, 2011 There isn't a terrace there. Well there is..... But it has loads of seats bolted onto it! I'll be there as it's just around the corner!
bpsaint Posted 25 August, 2011 Posted 25 August, 2011 The old dear won 4 tickets from the Carling Cup website so looks like i'm going, just hope its better than the last 2 trips there.
Dan Posted 25 August, 2011 Posted 25 August, 2011 We won't have many there. First game I would have missed in a year and a half as I will be in Bulgaria with the national team.
100%Red&White Posted 26 August, 2011 Posted 26 August, 2011 There isn't a terrace there. Fair cop, Guv. Didn't explain it too well, meant seats in the stand down the side, and the 'terrace' being the old end standing terrace with seats just unsuitably bolted on. We won't have many there. I'd imagine we'll have a couple of thousand, particularly if we're still on a roll after Saturday. We've taken 3,000 midweek to Bristol City in recent years early on in this cup.
Saint-Reece Posted 26 August, 2011 Posted 26 August, 2011 Will they be selling on the day, does anyone know?

WhiteleySaint Posted 26 August, 2011 Posted 26 August, 2011 Hope we take close to this again, I've bought two tickets, looking forward to it!!
Neil Posted 26 August, 2011 Posted 26 August, 2011 Was thinking £15 was ok before I remembered that they're now in Div 4! About time we won in that ****hole of a town, we usually take over the pubs up there, bit of a derby etc.
VectisSaint Posted 26 August, 2011 Posted 26 August, 2011 Bit of a pain not being able to get tickets up here. Will be on sale on Tuesday for away supporters (anyone know from what time?). Saints Ticket Office today said there should be plenty left as they are not shifting at the moment, hopefully there will be plenty available on Tuesday otherwise 5 of us won't be going.
