Badger Posted 27 August, 2011 Share Posted 27 August, 2011 According to reports in the Hull Daily Mail, Leicester City striker Martyn Waghorn would favour a move to Hull City over Southampton after the Foxes gave him permission to leave the club before the transfer window closes. " no one likes us, we don't care.." Putting his preference for Hull in context though, it would reunite him with Nigel Pearson, who so far is the only manager to show confidence in Waghorn during his career, and it is nearer Sunderland his home town. Good! Should help destabilise the Foxes today.
SaintRobbie Posted 27 August, 2011 Share Posted 27 August, 2011 I agree Jay Rod looks more promising - but good piece of psychological effort prior to todays game - by luck or judgement.

SNSUN Posted 27 August, 2011 Share Posted 27 August, 2011 There's a few clubs on the radar, don't know how true it is that we're involved. People say 4th official is usually pretty reliable. For me, a young striker is key, we don't have any bar Doble and it's unsure if he'll ever make the grade. I don't know much about Waghorn, but for me, if we were to take anyone off Leicester, I'd like that Schlupp bloke. He was very good for Brentford at the tail end of last season and is only 18. He sounded good today.

Either that or he wants silly money. he may not want silly money, what he probably wants is salary parity with our best paid player, who wants to be paid more than anyone else etc etc etc .The personal terms issue has cropped up a number of times this summer apparently, it can only be a salary parity/no-one gets as much as me catch 22 situation,Agents know what everybody makes at a club, secret squirrel politics or no. Saint Garrett Posted 28 August, 2011 Share Posted 28 August, 2011 **** him, if he doesn't want to be here then I for one don't want him here. There are better options out there, even if we don't sign someone by Wednesday there is always the loan window. In Nigel I trust !

Ashby Saint Posted 28 August, 2011 Share Posted 28 August, 2011 Or he wanted to play under a manager he knows and played well under before. This. If anything we were no more than a useful bargaining tool to maximise any potential offer from Hull. Can't complain really as we have used such an approach ourselves as a club. CWD Posted 28 August, 2011 Share Posted 28 August, 2011 Shame, but you can understand his decision. Tbh I don't think a striker is a desperate priority anyway. I would be slightly concerned if we reached Friday without a new CB however.

SuperSAINT Posted 29 August, 2011 Share Posted 29 August, 2011 Yeah, don't think you have to be a genius to have watched Beckford and not know he's a moody sulking sod... Good player who will get goals though. If he's going to play all the time he'll be fine... Otherwise he will kick up a fuss. Moyes has had to give him a couple of b0llockings @ Everton, I believe. I think my post was made out of frustration that we have one hell of a rumour mill going round, but very little end result from it when the rumours are shown to be valid in some way. But I know filling the gaps we have in the squad isn't easy. Just frustrated that we've not done it yet.

Saint Without a Halo Posted 29 August, 2011 Share Posted 29 August, 2011 If Waghorn is homesick for Sunderland while at Leicester do we really think his mind will be focused on us if he had joined. Sounds like we are better of without him? Also I am not sure he is better than what we have at present anyway.
