Foxstone Posted 24 August, 2011 Share Posted 24 August, 2011 Ah yes, this is what Chorley was ranting about in the days of Wilde/Hone/Dulieu in his OPEN LETTERS BY RICHARD CHORLEY I miss them as I usually found myself with a couple of hours to spare in those days to read them;) - They were quite a laugh actually especially when he fell out with some other posters who did not agree with him, gave them his mobile number and then disappeared in a huff ! They were certainly entertaining to read. He also had such a vast array of reasons why he had to disappear at certain moments that someone invented a game on here called Chorley's bull**** bingo or something to that effect. Weston Saint Posted 24 August, 2011 Share Posted 24 August, 2011 Did some digging today with someone who would know. Gave him a copy of the tweets. He said most of it was rubbish, particularly the wages. HR was on more that Clifford and Sir Clive. Clifford was not earning or offered the figures he quoted. Does not believe Lowe paid any part out of his own pocket either but he is going to ask him. Lowe and Cowan's vision for Saints were left with the club papers when they left and readily available to the new owners. There were no plans to invest in the Academy structure the way the present owners have and there was no plan to employ a Les Reid type position. My contact has no axe to grind and has been very open with me in the past.

Tontin Posted 25 August, 2011 Share Posted 25 August, 2011 Interesting thread certainly enough for a book, hopefully with Clifford as a contributor and not as a ghost author. In the past his comments have been left wanting and Twitter is probably the worst/best place for someone with the verbals. Slightly interesting fact; anyone with the Damned United DVD can see him interviewed on the extras as he was the choreographer for the football.
