Fighting back against the feral yobs

The shocking scenes after the Millwall game got me thinking. These scenes are a perfect illustration of the broken society spoken about by David Cameron. It's up to us all to say NO to the behaviour of a few delinquents and to this end launch Operation Family Club.

Your suggestions are essential!

Here is mine:

Is this 'hooliganism' a new thing then?

Saints have existed for 125 years and for most of our history it didn't exist.

Infact I believe there is a correlation between the end of National Service and beginning of yobish behaviour at football matches.

Football factory has humour, most scenes have a joke or something you can laugh at before the stupid scenes of violent fighting so you feel better about the film.

Green street is just pure pathetic fighting.

Millwall and other teams have fans or so called fans who are pathetic and want to cause trouble its hard to stop it from happening all the time.

I think there are quite a few feral yobs contributing to this millwall forum. http://www.millwall.vitalfootball.co.uk/forum/forums/thread-view.asp?tid=86813&posts=48

A erudite bunch ain't they ?

I was alarmed to read that just because I support SFC this means I must therefore be 'middle class' - an appalling insult if ever I heard one. To misquote the great Ronnie Barker:

I used to think I was working class, but then I went to Millwall ....... and now I know I'm middle class.

I speak from knowing the facts. My old man was born in 1931 and him and his brothers (all big Saints fans) regularly attended games at Fratton Park. This would be in the 50's. It was normal then.

I thought you were all for this 'broken society', given your love of light sentencing for the rioters!

Proportionate sentencing and rehabilitation is what I support. Cameron talks a lot, but if he is to mend broken Britain it means bringing back national service for those who leave schooling at 16.

But I thought A-Levels and degrees were worthless?! Now you're confusing me. (Just so you know, the current year nine pupils - thirteen to fourteen year olds - and all subsequent years will have to stay in education until they are eighteen.)

That's fine in civilised areas, but in certain inner city areas it's pointless telling feral yobs to go to school past 16 because lots of them don't bother anyway. If a child is playing truant then they should go into national service where the armed forces will do what schools have failed to do i.e civilising them into behaving as one should in a western christian democracy.
