I think it's more who has bid the most, us or WHU, and which bid gets accepted.

From various bits of info coming out tonight, Baldock to Saints is looking likely.

What have you heard? JustMike pm'd said saints deal rejected!!!

Sorry - didn't mean to mislead; merely meant that many news outlets, including those close to MK Dons seem to think we are the club which has had a deal accepted and that Baldock (according to one source) may even be travelling down for talks tonight.

Fourth_Official is rarely on the mark when it comes to Saints.

I think he's been pretty much spot on regarding any transfer's.

He didn't confirm we'd sign Maynard, or JayR - but he did confirm out interest in them, which was true. I think we see Baldock as better value, which I have to agree with if I'm honest.

Fourth Official didn't say anything on our 3 signings - Cork, Fox and De Ridder. He knew nothing of those transfers until they were done. The Fox transfer, for example, was announced on the OS and he tweeter just after that we were close to signing Fox. He's not spot on with Saints.

I think Fourth Official is just very on the ball with rumours/twitter then repeats things he has heard with a lot of confidence. If he said that Exeter were set to sign someone and then they do tomorrow it has probably been all over a fan forum the day before, yet apart from that teams fans people wouldn't be aware of the deal until it is announced.

dont be suprised if West Ham hijack the deal

From Skysports Transfer Centre: "Boss Karl Robinson has confirmed that MK Dons have rejected an estimated £1.5million bid for striker Sam Baldock from West Ham."

For anyone who has met Nick he is a very nice gentleman but also very proffesional, I asked him if there's any truth in Sam and in his words " pretty much all done and dusted, all very quick" then mocked me for what I was curling!!

Interesting. Thanks - hopefully all done then. Big price tag but loads of potential.

I'd be disappointed to loose Dicko, I still think he has something to offer us....but as we've just splashed close to £2m on a new LB, he'll struggle to get near.

Cheers - watch him get slapped by NC though! ;)

Agreed. I think he's looked better than Harding at times.

Baldock looks very good. Would be pleased to have him hear.

Yep, he looks very handy. Sort of player that would fit in with what we're doing here...young/hungry/potential etc.

And you can't fault Nigel's ability to spot good striking talent...(martin patterson, gary hooper, Paul Hayes, jermaine beckford etc..)

Having read the link on the other thread about player stats whilst playing (very interesting), I wouldnt be at all surprised if Adkins has studied them in detail and decided he's perfect for what we need, certainly at the price.

Out of interest how old is he?
