Thedelldays Posted 19 August, 2011 Posted 19 August, 2011 Whilst i love the free flowing lots of goals football in many ways i would like to see us grind out a 1 nil win tomorrow' date=' to rein in the expectations.[/quote'] so, ANOTHER win will rein in expectations..?
Gemmel Posted 19 August, 2011 Posted 19 August, 2011 Mike, go and stand in the corner and face the wall please.
hypochondriac Posted 19 August, 2011 Posted 19 August, 2011 What an odd thread. A 5-0 drubbing for the south coast brazil will do nicely.

A 5-0 drubbing for the south coast brazil will do nicely. in an odd mood, suppose i am preparing myself for when the bubble has a small leak, i do not believe it will burst, but bad results and performances will happen

When your on this sort of roll you want it to last forever,
70's Mike Posted 19 August, 2011 Author Posted 19 August, 2011 R U stunned or whot? When your on this sort of roll you want it to last forever, difference between a skate and me, i have realistic expectations and realise "things do not last forever" even on credit

70's Mike Posted 19 August, 2011 Author Posted 19 August, 2011 Well obviously, but why would you prefer a mediocre performance to a brilliant one? just to get it out of the way
hypochondriac Posted 19 August, 2011 Posted 19 August, 2011 just to get it out of the way That makes absolutely no sense.
Give it to Ron Posted 19 August, 2011 Posted 19 August, 2011 just to get it out of the way What about Barnsley??
sussexsaint Posted 19 August, 2011 Posted 19 August, 2011 I think your leaky bubble may start at Leicester. So enjoy while it lasts
Toadhall Saint Posted 19 August, 2011 Posted 19 August, 2011 A win and a clean sheet would do for me.
paulwantsapint Posted 19 August, 2011 Posted 19 August, 2011 About time we see some 1st goals seaborne cork Richardson Fox Martin
Turkish Posted 19 August, 2011 Posted 19 August, 2011 About time we see some 1st goals seaborne cork Richardson Fox Martin I agree. Especially about Cork, he played 3 games now, should really have hit the onion bag. As for Fox. 0 goals in 15 minutes is disgraceful for a left back. Get rid now.
Raging Bull Posted 19 August, 2011 Posted 19 August, 2011 R U stunned or whot? When your on this sort of roll you want it to last forever, The 1 and only time I will ever agree with you..... I think your a closet saints fan anyway!
benjii Posted 19 August, 2011 Posted 19 August, 2011 Who gives a toss about curbing fans' expectations? Bit of a pathetic attitude really. Luckily it's the players' attitude which counts.
cryoman1965 Posted 19 August, 2011 Posted 19 August, 2011 I think your leaky bubble may start at Leicester. So enjoy while it lasts Thanks for your comments. They will need to sort themselves out quickly to do that.
Wes Tender Posted 19 August, 2011 Posted 19 August, 2011 Since I have been on holiday from early August, Saints haven't lost a single match. Now I'm back and going to be watching my first home match of my ST tomorrow, I'm bound to jinx us.
SuperMikey Posted 19 August, 2011 Posted 19 August, 2011 Millwall are a big team, and my only worry about tomorrow is the fact that they'll probably kick the sh!t out of us to try and stop us playing. We'll win if we can get past that aspect of their game.

Leeds did that after 10 minutes........................................................= Just hope if they do come to kick us the ref has the minerals to reach for cards early doors.
Dr Who? Posted 19 August, 2011 Posted 19 August, 2011 I have said it before and will say it again, if you cannot enjoy football when it is this good, then you will never enjoy it. Keep banging in the goals and I will keep this big smile on my face. In fact just keep winning and I will be a very happy chappy. I cannot put into words how proud of the club/team I am at the moment, and I cannot wipe this smug look off my face.... I love Saints!!
CB Saint Posted 19 August, 2011 Posted 19 August, 2011 About time we see some 1st goals seaborne cork Richardson Fox Martin You missed out kelvin. About time he started to chip in, idle git.
SuperMikey Posted 19 August, 2011 Posted 19 August, 2011 Leeds did that after 10 minutes........................................................= Just hope if they do come to kick us the ref has the minerals to reach for cards early doors. Millwall are bigger in size than Leeds though, their midfield is f*cking huge! Plus, the ref tomorrow is Andy D'Urso, meaning that he'll only see 10% of the fouls that are committed during the match... I can see one of our key players picking up an injury tomorrow.

Whitey Grandad Posted 19 August, 2011 Posted 19 August, 2011 Why would you want to rein in expectations???

Always feel he does not like us after his premier league career dissipation light lit up like a Christmas tree when he lost count with the yellows a few years ago. Don't worry his replacement is itching for the chance to step up to the plate. Edited 19 August, 2011 by John Boy Saint
Neil Posted 20 August, 2011 Posted 20 August, 2011 Well I'd happily take a 1-0 win today. But there's no way I want to rein in expectations! Expectations are sky high and climbing, can't beat the excitement about Saints at the moment, long may it continue!

Junction 9 Posted 20 August, 2011 Posted 20 August, 2011 I had a dream last night we won 1-0, if that's any help.
Ohio Saint Posted 20 August, 2011 Posted 20 August, 2011 Looks like Mike and I are all alone on this idea With us playing so well and winning so much, something doesn't feel right. I am outside of my comfort zone. While I don't actually want us to play poorly and still want us to win by as many goals as possible, all these high hopes for the season are unbearable! Yes, I need some misery in my life to help regain equilibrium. I'm too happy.

Thedelldays Posted 20 August, 2011 Posted 20 August, 2011 I'll send you the bill for my near cardiac arrest later!! what are YOU like...!!
Rut Posted 20 August, 2011 Posted 20 August, 2011 Score 5 away for show - win scrappy one-nils for dough. I don't know about the 'expectation thing' but this was a great win. You ain't gonna walk over teams every week. Good teams find ways to win 1-0 when not playing as well as they can. Saints are good. Leicester totally blew it today as well. We can do them for another 3 points.
Saint Billy Posted 20 August, 2011 Posted 20 August, 2011 Whilst i love the free flowing lots of goals football in many ways i would like to see us grind out a 1 nil win tomorrow' date=' to rein in the expectations.[/quote'] Good call!!!
ericofarabia Posted 20 August, 2011 Posted 20 August, 2011 what are YOU like...!! Just short of a coronary ..not sure if that is anything to do with the performance or the fact that you will be out here next year
Micky Posted 20 August, 2011 Posted 20 August, 2011 Whilst i love the free flowing lots of goals football in many ways i would like to see us grind out a 1 nil win tomorrow' date=' to rein in the expectations.[/quote'] Well you got the game you wanted - well called. But now thats 4 in a row, I really don't think the expectation will be anything other than greater...!! Sounded like a good performance and a good result as well though.

70's Mike Posted 20 August, 2011 Author Posted 20 August, 2011 Great victory we really had to man up today against a team of strong athletes people mis understood my initial post, i would love to win by 5 every week but having read posts on here and listened to JCL at work and in the pub, just want a degree of realism. Even today after we scored some muppets were chanting "were going to win the league" christ i hope to god we do BUT today showed what a lot of games will be like, Lallana double marked and teams who will happily by pass midfield and pick up on knock downs.

70's Mike Posted 20 August, 2011 Author Posted 20 August, 2011 Some kind of prophet you are!! not really i said 3-1 saints on the prediction league
