Surely a crap ref is generally crap for both sides - unless there is some evidence that he is biased against Saints/south coast teams in general/the home side, or that he specifically favours Millwall/London teams/ the away side. If there is to be minimal physical contact, and as Chappers is suspended, would that not work in our favour, being the new Barcelona and famed far and wide for our silky passing moves ?

Silky passing moves will be deemed deceitful play

Maybe I'm biased but his (already dire) performances in charge of Saints games seem to intensify (against Saints) following the incident vs Blackburn, in Luggy's last game in charge, where he forgot to send off Barry Ferguson.

He has earned the name Andy D'Arsehole in our house and probably many more around the country too...

Aside from the Blackburn game when he forgot to send one of their players off what was the other game of ours he was absolute dog**** in? Seem to recall it being fairly recent?

Well, he called off the Charlton away gamne last christmas because a part of the pitch was frozen, despite having asked for the heaters to be removed from that particular part of the pitch to another part.

The game you're probably thinking of is LEeds at home in League One though. We won 1-0 but no thanks to his awful refereeing.

Perform well and the ref's performance won't matter. Well, unless he awards them 6 dodgy penalties and/or rules out our 5 perfectly good efforts...

But seriously, he may be **** but if we do a proper job then the ref shouldn't matter.

Tbf that wasn't D'Urso but that equally poor referee Peter Walton (still a Prem ref amazingly)

Perhaps it is the Charlton game I'm thinking of then. That Leeds game was refereed by Peter Walton, by far and wide the worst display by an official I've ever seen at St Marys!

To be fair to D'Urso I'd probably not take a fan's opinion seriously. Given that the vast majority of St Mary's don't seem to get the offside rule (i.e. it isn't called offside until the ball is touched) - leading the people behind me to go 'facking late call Lino!' every 10 minutes.

And, given how much debate was had on another thread about whether the the ball had hit the staunton (even after 10 replays), then I don't think we've got the right to judge a referee's snap decision. Hardly makes any of the ******s in my opinion.

(I hope I have copied those down correctly - http://www.soccerbase.com/referees/referee.sd?referee_id=138&season_id=141)

I make that 11W 9D 5L and no defeats since Qpr in 2006 (Not one of Kelvins better days if i remember correctly), which as a record seems ok to me.

However he did allow the Cheats to win on Tuesday night therefore he must be a bad Ref.

Was that the day that the Ray Jones capatilised on a Kelvin howler?

Died tragically a year later.

To be fair, I wouldn't take your opinion too seriously either if you consider that the 'vast majority' is represented by a few people who sit behind you !
