georgeweahscousin Posted 18 August, 2011 Posted 18 August, 2011 A new feature on my site. Looking at a player from the next opposition who has played for us. http://georgeweahscousin.com/2011/08/18/a-saint-amongst-them-millwall/
hamster Posted 18 August, 2011 Posted 18 August, 2011 Pompey have a similar source for visiting 'scummers' I believe.
SNSUN Posted 18 August, 2011 Posted 18 August, 2011 He was a strange signing at a time when we didn't really need him. Hope he does well at Millwall, but preferably not when we play them!
S-Clarke Posted 18 August, 2011 Posted 18 August, 2011 He's done really well at Millwall so far, strikes me as the sort of player that needs to be first team straight away - seems to struggle to make an impact as a bit-part player as he was with us.
Saint_clark Posted 18 August, 2011 Posted 18 August, 2011 He was a strange signing at a time when we didn't really need him. Hope he does well at Millwall, but preferably not when we play them! We needed a pacy impact player - and we got two in the form of N'Guessan and Forte. One of them turned an away draw into an away win at Exeter, and the other a home loss to a home win against MK Dons. They did what we paid them to do, IMO.

I like Forte, I think he has a big part to play this season. N'Guessan, sadly, we'll be largely forgotten in a few years times, along all the other loans that didn't work out.
georgeweahscousin Posted 19 August, 2011 Author Posted 19 August, 2011 As a fellow blogger. I like. Thanks. Pompey have a similar source for visiting 'scummers' I believe. They do, although I think they might have stopped doing it, I thought about a similar thing, but thought ex-Saints would be more interesting. Pleased to see he's probably injured for the game tomorrow - no disrepect to the lad - just know that he would score against us.
red&white56 Posted 19 August, 2011 Posted 19 August, 2011 Nice site - I took time to read the championship review and thought this was well done with contributors from each club talking about the upcoming season.
Minsk Posted 20 August, 2011 Posted 20 August, 2011 They do, although I think they might have stopped doing it, I thought about a similar thing, but thought ex-Saints would be more interesting. Parhaps you could do both? This one and something like: 'He got his Skates on' Just a thought. Good site by the way.

norwaysaint Posted 24 August, 2011 Posted 24 August, 2011 Did they really pay 5.5 million for Matt Mills? Wow.
The9 Posted 24 August, 2011 Posted 24 August, 2011 Did they really pay 5.5 million for Matt Mills? Wow. That's the Matt Mills who conceded the penalty last weekend that Kasper Schmeichel was hilariously sent off for firstly delaying and then lobbing the ball into the crowd after conceding from ? Both of whom are in my FF side...
Huntingdon Posted 24 August, 2011 Posted 24 August, 2011 I like it, it's a good idea and a nice read I'd be interested in a blogger doing a 'Where are they now' of Saints academy players too. Some of them just disappear, which is a shame because being a keen watcher of our Youth Team, I'd like to know what's happened to them

georgeweahscousin Posted 25 August, 2011 Author Posted 25 August, 2011 Pure Alan Partridge! GWC, unintended comedy genius. You know it is going to be a good day, when you are compared to Partridge!
Minsk Posted 25 August, 2011 Posted 25 August, 2011 The 'Dedication's What You Need' article is, IMHO, very good. You show some great dedication there yourself!

georgeweahscousin Posted 6 September, 2011 Author Posted 6 September, 2011 Would be interested to know what other Saints fans thought of McGoldrick in particular? I never warmed to him, but he scored a few goals in a poor team when we were relegated from the Championship.
johnnyboy Posted 6 September, 2011 Posted 6 September, 2011 A very good appraisal and has been bookmarked .
eurosaint Posted 6 September, 2011 Posted 6 September, 2011 (edited) Would be interested to know what other Saints fans thought of McGoldrick in particular? I never warmed to him, but he scored a few goals in a poor team when we were relegated from the Championship. I used to call him 'Scuffer' because he never seemed to strike the ball cleanly, even when he scored they were quite often mis hits ! A few regulars who sit around me in the Kingsland hated him because they thought he was lazy, personally I was never sure whether it was just an unfortunate type of body language which could perhaps be described as 'languid' ! Suffice to say, I wouldn't swap him for Lambo, Conners, Barney or Guly so am not concerned that we sold him ! Ps. please delete this post if the barsteward scores on Sat Edited 6 September, 2011 by eurosaint I know that mis hit is all one word but the filter doesn't like it!
