S-Clarke Posted 17 August, 2011 Posted 17 August, 2011 Of all the players to score against Leicester, funny! And it also shows what a team of individual big money signings produces early on.
The Hoff Posted 17 August, 2011 Author Posted 17 August, 2011 Millwall also in action tonight against fellow promotee's P'boro. Could give us an idea of what they are like this early in the season ready for Saturday?
S-Clarke Posted 17 August, 2011 Posted 17 August, 2011 Leicester are being torn a new one by all accounts. Can't see sven lasting there long, he'll walk before long IMO.
Doctoroncall Posted 17 August, 2011 Posted 17 August, 2011 Millwall are an organised side and will do pretty well barring injuries to their small squad. It will be a good test for Saturday. and I expect Brighton to do well but not as well as us!

Shows what L1 momentum can give you, Millwall still have it from a year on and it's enabled them to push on even more. Being relegated may have been the best thing that's happened to us for a long time, in a weird way. It's allowed us to do a total clean sweep.
stevegrant Posted 17 August, 2011 Posted 17 August, 2011 Of all the players to score against Leicester, funny! And it also shows what a team of individual big money signings produces early on. I think it possibly demonstrates more that if you want to win games you have to sign players who are going to create and score goals. Their front line of Vassell and Nugent isn't going to scare any defence in this division, to be honest. Their defence looks strong on paper, but then you also have to bear in mind that Leeds fans and management weren't that bothered about Schmeichel going, having had the second-worst defensive record last season.

True, I must say I haven't been very impressed with their signings tbh. They've added alot...but nothing stands out as amazing quality, just alot of over-priced players. They are still actively looking for another goal scorer though, wouldn't surprise me to see them step up their interest in Maynard after this.
The Kraken Posted 17 August, 2011 Posted 17 August, 2011 Sven and Lolcester have signed a lot of players; it will remain to be seen whether they have actually bought a team.
SO16_Saint Posted 17 August, 2011 Posted 17 August, 2011 Goals for Peterborough and Cardiff would be good. 2 points clear after 3 matches sound good
Sambib Posted 17 August, 2011 Posted 17 August, 2011 I'm pleased with our result so far, but absolutely dying of nerves. I was the same at Portsmouth, but it was more prominent being at Fratton Park itself!! Just hope we don't concede a silly goal and keep the lead! Congrats for your FANTASTIC start to the season, I always thought Southampton would do very well this season Good luck to y'all, except against us of course, though I fear you will thrash us aha! Let's hope for some success on the south coast in the Championship this season...except Portsmouth
Toomer Posted 17 August, 2011 Posted 17 August, 2011 Millwall 2 up I bet young Fergie has got a face like a smacked arse,

Still think Poyet is a tit though.
Sambib Posted 17 August, 2011 Posted 17 August, 2011 Oh excellent! Our penalty-curse last season hasn't followed us up so far Do you guys have any ideas who you may sign, if you need anyone?
S-Clarke Posted 17 August, 2011 Posted 17 August, 2011 Maynard again, 2-1 to Bristol City now. I really want us to sign this kid.
beatlesaint Posted 17 August, 2011 Posted 17 August, 2011 Millwall 2 up I bet young Fergie has got a face like a smacked arse, No different than usual then :-)
itchen_dan Posted 17 August, 2011 Posted 17 August, 2011 Maynard again for City. Great composed finish. Sign him up Nige!!! Leicester 1-2 Bristol City
saintscottofthenortham Posted 17 August, 2011 Posted 17 August, 2011 Maynard scores 2nd to put Brizzle 2-1 up.

If we sign a CB and a pacy striker then we really will have no weaknesses and I will expect the playoffs.
thorpie the sinner Posted 17 August, 2011 Posted 17 August, 2011 Am I right in thinking Bristol City have one player lol!!!!!
Guan 2.0 Posted 17 August, 2011 Posted 17 August, 2011 72:22 Booking Marcos Painter receives a yellow card. 72:03 Free kick awarded for an unfair challenge on Rudy Gestede by Marcos Painter. 70:37 Booking The referee cautions Casper Ankergren for time wasting. Lovely team, lovely style.
Sambib Posted 17 August, 2011 Posted 17 August, 2011 If we sign a CB and a pacy striker then we really will have no weaknesses and I will expect the playoffs. Another decent centre back to partner Fonte (Probably the best defender in the league last season, way too good for it!!) and I can see you conceding very few! I've heard rumours about Rodriguez of Burnley and maybe Maynard?
Super_Saint Posted 17 August, 2011 Posted 17 August, 2011 Maynard might have another game away at Leicester this month :l
S-Clarke Posted 17 August, 2011 Posted 17 August, 2011 Maynard might have another game away at Leicester this month :l Let's hope so!
Toomer Posted 17 August, 2011 Posted 17 August, 2011 Come on Cardiff pull it back and it will make it a good night all round. (Feck it)
hypochondriac Posted 17 August, 2011 Posted 17 August, 2011 Blackpool 0 - 1 Derby What a great start they have had. Come out of the blue really.
S-Clarke Posted 17 August, 2011 Posted 17 August, 2011 What a great start they have had. Come out of the blue really. Yep, it has a bit. Although they've signed well. £1m on Jason Shackell for e.g., good player.
shurlock Posted 17 August, 2011 Posted 17 August, 2011 Brighton's result bigger than our's last night?
S-Clarke Posted 17 August, 2011 Posted 17 August, 2011 At least we go into Saturday top of the league!!!
SuperSAINT Posted 17 August, 2011 Posted 17 August, 2011 Great win for Brighton. Cardiff were unbeaten coming into that game weren't they?
S-Clarke Posted 17 August, 2011 Posted 17 August, 2011 Great win for Brighton. Cardiff were unbeaten coming into that game weren't they? Yeah, they would have made it 3 out of 3 if they'd won.
SuperSAINT Posted 17 August, 2011 Posted 17 August, 2011 Yeah, they would have made it 3 out of 3 if they'd won. Feels like old times with us & Brighton at the top of the league
Lazlo78 Posted 17 August, 2011 Posted 17 August, 2011 Great result for Brighton showing that they can also do business in this league!
Dark Munster Posted 17 August, 2011 Posted 17 August, 2011 Feels like old times with us & Brighton at the top of the league L1 > NpC?
saints-cris Posted 17 August, 2011 Posted 17 August, 2011 Fair play to Brighton, great result for them, showed they're no mugs. Gotta chuckle at Leicester though, makes me glad that we didnt go that route, splashing the cash.
