An Intresting Take On; Saints, Last Night, Adkins And Our Chances For The Season

Bless him, he's worked out that 7 of the starting 11 (and 8 of the 16) were Pardew signings and is clearly stuck in some sort of time warp where he thinks that Pardew was sacked last week rather than last year, thus not giving Adkins the time to instill his own methods and tactics into the team

Ha, just read through a bit more of it and they are absolutely clueless, going on about how we're better suited to the Championship because of our pace, power, directness etc, about as far off the truth as you can get - its been our one touch, patient football that has stood out a mile.

Mental to call it Pardew's team. Adkins has had a year to mould it, got far better results and signed players. People seem to forget the impact of coaching, boosting players confidence, gelling them into a team and ultimately, tactics.

because they are one dimensional and cannot see beyond 'he was a pardew signing'.

I still don't understand why they 'hate' us.

Probably due to our indifference to them. The fact is that whilst they finished above us last season, they know the only reason for this was due to our poor start. It must surely ruin the feeling of going up as champions when you know in reality you were 2nd best for the vast majority of the season. Must have felt like an empty win.

Some balanced views and overall surprisingly positive. What I really don't get is this anti Adkins stuff and what a wonderful manager Pardew was, doesn't make any sense to me?

And given that Pardew is ex-Palace (and in fact scored a goal to take Palace to an FA Cup final, so quite a prominent player for them), you'd have thought they'd automatically hate him.

Good result for them last night, though. Probably did us a favour beating Cardiff.

My thoughts too.

Having a club like Brighton aspiring to be as good as us will inadvertently help us in this league.

In their endeavours to keep up with us they will take points off our promotion rivals here and there whilst not being quite good enough to overtake us.

Win win.

;-)
