Gemmel Posted 17 August, 2011 Posted 17 August, 2011 http://www.northstandchat.com/showthread.php?210608-Scumhampton-on-fire On the whole pleasantly surprised :)
Ohio Saint Posted 17 August, 2011 Posted 17 August, 2011 I was almost laughing out loud for real with the recurring theme of Adkins is crap because he's just a physio!!
stevegrant Posted 17 August, 2011 Posted 17 August, 2011 Many fair comments there, interlaced with a few absolutely nuts ones.
alki_in_korea Posted 17 August, 2011 Posted 17 August, 2011 samjef or somthing saying its pardews team wait til akin buys people n we will be ****.HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA.THIS IS NIGELS TEAM,CORK IS OUR STAR PEFOMER **** PARDEW
Kelly Smunt Posted 17 August, 2011 Posted 17 August, 2011 Why do any of our fans feel the need to join and post on there board? Pointless.
stevegrant Posted 17 August, 2011 Posted 17 August, 2011 Bless him, he's worked out that 7 of the starting 11 (and 8 of the 16) were Pardew signings and is clearly stuck in some sort of time warp where he thinks that Pardew was sacked last week rather than last year, thus not giving Adkins the time to instill his own methods and tactics into the team
Sour Mash Posted 17 August, 2011 Posted 17 August, 2011 It still absolutely cracks me up how much some of them don't like us. So far off the radar they make Bournemouth look important.
egreog Posted 17 August, 2011 Posted 17 August, 2011 Resentment and jealousy I feel, fairly typical of the "smaller club" syndrome. Have to say their dislike of Adkins cannot match my dislike of their management!!
keithd Posted 17 August, 2011 Posted 17 August, 2011 i especially like the one post from the guy saying he used to hate the Dell. Bit harsh moaning about that still
Sour Mash Posted 17 August, 2011 Posted 17 August, 2011 Ha, just read through a bit more of it and they are absolutely clueless, going on about how we're better suited to the Championship because of our pace, power, directness etc, about as far off the truth as you can get - its been our one touch, patient football that has stood out a mile.
Doctoroncall Posted 17 August, 2011 Posted 17 August, 2011 Mental to call it Pardew's team. Adkins has had a year to mould it, got far better results and signed players. People seem to forget the impact of coaching, boosting players confidence, gelling them into a team and ultimately, tactics. because they are one dimensional and cannot see beyond 'he was a pardew signing'.
Thorpe-le-Saint Posted 17 August, 2011 Posted 17 August, 2011 I still don't understand why they 'hate' us.
KK the 2nd Posted 17 August, 2011 Posted 17 August, 2011 Some balanced views and overall surprisingly positive. What I really don't get is this anti Adkins stuff and what a wonderful manager Pardew was, doesn't make any sense to me?
sambosa75 Posted 17 August, 2011 Posted 17 August, 2011 I still don't understand why they 'hate' us. Probably due to our indifference to them. The fact is that whilst they finished above us last season, they know the only reason for this was due to our poor start. It must surely ruin the feeling of going up as champions when you know in reality you were 2nd best for the vast majority of the season. Must have felt like an empty win.
This Charming Man Posted 17 August, 2011 Posted 17 August, 2011 They've got some proper morons on that thread. Though at the same time, you have to laugh at just how utterly clueless some of them are. Not too sure where their hatred of Adkins comes from?
Crab Lungs Posted 17 August, 2011 Posted 17 August, 2011 Well I wasn't at all impressed, they're still a massive bunch of bitter retards and from the looks of things, always will be - except now they've got their new stadium, they're getting a bit above themselves.
Lighthouse Posted 17 August, 2011 Posted 17 August, 2011 Can't really say I'm borther about what Brighton fans think. I've nothing against them, I'm just indifferent. It's not exactly a local derby and now we've both got Pompey in the middle to distract us. Most of their fans seem alright, good luck to them.
stevegrant Posted 17 August, 2011 Posted 17 August, 2011 Some balanced views and overall surprisingly positive. What I really don't get is this anti Adkins stuff and what a wonderful manager Pardew was, doesn't make any sense to me? And given that Pardew is ex-Palace (and in fact scored a goal to take Palace to an FA Cup final, so quite a prominent player for them), you'd have thought they'd automatically hate him.
doddisalegend Posted 17 August, 2011 Posted 17 August, 2011 I don't really have any feelings towards Brighton one way or the other............I do however think Poyet is a grade A c unt
hutch Posted 18 August, 2011 Posted 18 August, 2011 Good result for them last night, though. Probably did us a favour beating Cardiff. They've had a great start, but they're not top of the league.
trousers Posted 18 August, 2011 Posted 18 August, 2011 Good result for them last night, though. Probably did us a favour beating Cardiff. My thoughts too. Having a club like Brighton aspiring to be as good as us will inadvertently help us in this league. In their endeavours to keep up with us they will take points off our promotion rivals here and there whilst not being quite good enough to overtake us. Win win. ;-) (this post was brought to you by the Tongue-in-cheek Party)
lettuce Posted 18 August, 2011 Posted 18 August, 2011 They might be Pardew's PLAYERS, but it's Adkins' TEAM... (plus, Pardew never had a bus, which was clearly the missing ingredient)
Saint_clark Posted 18 August, 2011 Posted 18 August, 2011 Quite funny how excited they got when Ipswich brought it back to 3-2.
