In fear of selling our best players...

It says something that here we are, 2 weeks from the end of the transfer window, and all the talk is of who else can we buy.

 

We have some cracking players, some of which would interest Premier League clubs (Fonte and Lallana to name a couple), and yet no-one seems worried at all. I know they've recently signed new contracts but everyone knows that means f*ck all if they decide they want to go.

 

Some (or even most) Prem clubs are desperate for new players (AP at Newcastle anyone?).

 

Paul Jewell admitted Ipswich had bid for Ricky earlier so obviously bids come in all the time and are quietly turned away (or screwed up and put in the bin)

 

....but no-one is worried and neither am I.

 

Whatever it is, be it happy players, other chairman not wanting to deal with NC, whatever. Long may it continue

As fans of Woolwich Arsenal have just seen, there's always a bigger club somewhere...

 

It's only worth worrying about players leaving if you have no hope of replacing them.

 

Currently Saints have both the funds to go to the market and are also a club on the up that players would want to join.

I only worry we'll lose Lallana. He is not replaceable in my opinion.

 

I don't think we'll lose him this season as it wasn't long ago he signed a 4 year contract. But I do think he'll be playing in the prem next season. Hopefully with us.

I guess the same reason that half the footballing world has joined Leicester. Either loads of money or to work under a 'world-class' manager like Sven (no really, I'm serious - stop laughing!)

I think the only players leaving will be players that we have cover for. Cannot see any of the main first team leaving, I am not worried at all! They are all together and really for the fight to the top!!

Not worried about the outs. No-one will leave, we would be asking stupid money for anyone. Lallana, Fonte and Lambert would be tough to replace though...

The only person I can honestly see going before the end of this wondow is Ryan Dickson. I just cannot see where or how he will get a game with Harding and Fox in front of him for left back and Lallana, Fox again and Holmes in front of him for left midfield.

 

I hope he stays cos I quite rate him but when NA said something about having one too many for a position is as bad as having one too few Dickson was the only person I could think that applies to.
