ericofarabia Posted 16 August, 2011 Share Posted 16 August, 2011 Funnily enough am going by coach to the game as I don't have a car as otherwise I'd drive up and I use them nearly all the time tbh and there not bad and it would be way more fun if alcohol was allowed but not to be and tbh as long as I get there and back then it's OK with me! I don't use them for London games as I get the train/tube to them wherever they may be! As for a funny story I went by coach with my family to the FA Cup Semi Final game at Villa Park v Watford and we got the coach there and before we left the driver said not to use the toilets they have on board for a number 2 but can use for a number 1 and one of the fans on the coach went to the toilet and while he was in there I accidentally let one rip (Farted!) and my family mainly my parents started cracking up as the other people thought the fan had done a number 2 so that was quite funny! Good Times... lol! COYR !!! Rock And Roll I nearly fainted trying to read the 2nd paragraph in one breath and the punchline pushed me over the edge. Such japes to be had on The Bingo Buses when Danny The Benny legend is around.

yorkie Posted 16 August, 2011 Share Posted 16 August, 2011 Not done many coach trips but did one with the old Saints Supporters Social Club to Leyton Orient the season we went up back in !977/78 from memory. It was a right laugh - no TV or video in those days you made your own entertainment! We had a few in the Club before we set off - then got caught up in loads of traffic so didn't get to a pub before the game. Remember some West Ham fan running alongside the coach giving it large. The coach stopped and someone got off to have a quiet word from memory! Obvioulsy being at the game and securing promotion meant for a great drive home - but as soon as we cleared the coach park - someone lobbed a brick through the windscreen. No one was hurt but Jeff (from memory had a lucky escape as he was sttod up talking to the driver at the time, trying to negotiate a pub stop. We we got a stop by some barracks whilst another coach was sent to meet us at Fleet services. Lots of happy football fans and women short of male company seemed to be a goof formula for some, as some didn't get back on the coach. By the time we got to Fleet it was early hours of the morning - with celebrations continuing I seem to remember one of the lads picking a bunch of daffodils for one of the ladies on the trip (barmaid called Lesley) - but he forgot to tell her someone had urinated all over them! Blimey it was a great day out and as for the coach trip pretty amusing. Strange we had gone to Luton the weekend before and windows done there as well - makes for a drafty drive home! Macey_J2 Posted 16 August, 2011 Share Posted 16 August, 2011 (edited) I travelled on the coaches twice last year. There are quite afew coaches, but all seem to generally be filled with 60 year old women (give or take 10 years) or parents with kids of about 10 years old. There was zero fun to be had from my point of view, and i'm pretty sure you can't take any alcohol on there. In addition to this, when we went to leighton orient, they couldn't even decide a route untill we left, they had no idea where they were dropping us off and the place they chose to pick us up wasn't approved by the local feds, so the coaches moved an actual mile down the road without anyone representing the 'travel club' at the point we were supposed to meet to guide us to the coach. In my defence i didn't book the coach travel on either occasion. Edited 16 August, 2011 by Macey_J2

The9 Posted 16 August, 2011 Share Posted 16 August, 2011 I wonder if less people are using them since they started charging to park at the Stadium? I believe it's £10 for most departures and I haven't bothered since. Fewer. I haven't been on a bingo bus since I went to Fellows Park in 1980 as a 7 year old to see Newport County get out of the 4th Division against Walsall [video=youtube;2xlB8-yg_Nc] , but I hear parking at Fleming Park (for free) is now the done thing. The Majestic Channon Posted 16 August, 2011 Share Posted 16 August, 2011 Clive is now manager of my sunday league team. What was he like in his youth? A good bloke, could be a grumpy bastard at times mind but organized loads of cracking trips. Overnighters to blackpool before evening games at Rochdale and man city to name 2.
