Nothing will be learned

' well its football isn't it , people are bound to speculate '

'happy with the squad we have, smiles on their faces, happy with signings we have made, will only add more if adds to the quality'

etc..

( sorry was writing this garbage as MLG posted, will go and look at saints player)

The bit I liked was this:

Speculation can be very damaging. We are talking about players that are at another football club, so we won't get involved in any speculation what so ever. We have been linked with several players all the time, but I think that everybody now knows that we do our business quietly, behind the scenes and that when we announce somebody arriving it catches everyone by surprise."

Wenger please note.

Why are people still listening to Illingsworth? For Christ's sake.

I don't mind NI being on the radio per se; he seems to love the publicity but I have no major issue with that at all. It was when he was peddling the myth of still being "Chairman of the Saints Trust" when that organisation had pretty much imploded that I took issue with his actions; declaring that previous members did not need to re-new their annual memberships, that had now changed so that they were "life-members", just to keep up appearances of having enough numbers to still be considered a worthwhile organisiation. It's exactly the same reason I take issue with SISA when they are labelled as a "Fans Chief" or whatever in the Echo, trying to dictate their own version of fans opinions.

The Solent interview with NI was clearly stated as being with "Nick Illingsworth, editor of the Ugly Inside web fanzine", so I have no bother with that.

Well I'm very uneasy about guys peddeling their so called fans groups as if they then have more credence than anyone else - they without doubt don't and I would prefer they did not go public with 'the fans opinions'. They are not in any way representing me or about 100,000 others who follow the team both at the ground and from a distance. If Solent want a fans opinion then pick a randome one - they might stand more chance of being representative!

These fans groups are well past their sell by date - pack it in guys, you're audience - tiny as it was has vanished and you are irrelivent and non representative.
