Saint-Fred Posted 15 August, 2011 Share Posted 15 August, 2011 He scores goals for fun He scores goals for fuuuuun David Connolly , he scores goes for fun Whilst it makes it easy for people..Does every song we have now need to be to the same tune? How many versions have we got of this now? We are coming for you, makes messi look ****e, he can't fing count (to kelvin), back from the dead etc etc? in addition every ad-hoc made up chant seems to be made up to this tune as well. Chez Posted 15 August, 2011 Share Posted 15 August, 2011 he seems to have thrived on showing the manager he was wrong to leave him out for so long, so let's keep bugging him with this ditty and maybe he'll thrive on shoving it down our throats. I have to say "We'll sing what we want, we'll sign what we want, just keep scoring goals my son, we'll sing what we want."
Faz Posted 15 August, 2011 Share Posted 15 August, 2011 Just had Kevin Phillips on the line. He asks if we could refrain from singning that song about his missus when we play Blackpool. He's a bit tetchy about it.

astrasri Posted 15 August, 2011 Share Posted 15 August, 2011 Would he like a nice piece of haddock to go with that massive chip on his shoulder Why does he have to have a chip on his shoulder - it was mildly amusing the first time and only the first time. If the guy doesn't like it why can't we respect that and change to something else, it's not as if he's an ex-skate and should be persecuted because of it! sotonjoe Posted 15 August, 2011 Share Posted 15 August, 2011 Anyone who was at Plymouth away would know his thoughts on the song. Clearly the OP wasn't and was hoping to create a popular thread by posting some 'hot news'.

Clearly the OP wasn't and was hoping to create a popular thread by posting some 'hot news'. Errr no... I don't think thats what he was doing at all. I think he's saying that if Connolly made it clear to the fans at Plymouth he didn't like the song, why the **** are we still singing it?

I would actually enjoy singing that quite a lot, and I would suggest he'd find it funny as well. May be a bit beyond a few of our usual singers though. We're glad he's alive, we though he was dead David Connoly, he's back from the dead Awesome work ;-)

I can't understand what his problem is though, it's harmless enough and perhaps a pro athlete should be a little more thick skinned. That's all I'm saying.
