I don't think it gets sung anymore after he showed his dislike for it at Plymouth?

“I don’t particularly like that,” said Connolly, who gestured at fans to stop the song at Oakwell.

Terrible song, Connoly is a strange man though i spent five mins in his presence at the saints party and he'as not all there.

Was sung a few times at Barnsley from pockets of the Southampton support. Quite a few people didnt join in with it though. He gestured to the Saints fans when it was being sung on Saturday and at Plymouth last year.

I didn't hear it once at Barnsley!

How was the hangover sunday? I spent 2 hours head down the toilet, worse than that is i had the runs due to a dodgy kebab. Bad day all round.

Couldn't care less, he is clearly all there on the pitch.

Haha. Wasn't too bad, I feared it was going to be worse. Think the croissant helped soak some of the booze up...

If it wasn't all that funny when he broke back into the first team then it certainly isn't now. As Connolly says, he's been fit for bloody ages - not to mention currently in some of the best form of his life. Daft chant, he doesn't like it, yet a pocket of mongs will continue regardless. *shrug*

It rang out, quite clearly, at the Torquay game.

After the first ever singing of it, which to some was humorous, it should not have been sung again. It's disrespectful and shows no thought or consideration to what he has been through with injuries, both here and previously in his career. I'd guess he has pushed his mind and body to extremes to get himself back on form and providing so well for Saints.

We fans owe him something more than a song like that.

I don't know why it bothers him all that much.

He wants to feel loved!

Even if sung in jest, the "back from the dead" song has a negative tone about it and I understand why he doesn't like it.

Too much information !!!

Did it? I don't remember that. Also there would have been little reason to sing about David Connolly as he wasn't in the squad for the Torquay game, let alone on the pitch.

Maybe I'm a bit mad but I think it is quite an affectionate, tongue-in-cheek song. After all, we're all pleased that he's back in the team playing rather than being on the sidelines?

That said, he clearly hates it and so it would be best if it was stopped. Don't want him to stop scoring!

Didn't hear it at Barnsley either. S***e song, but I don't know why it bothers him all that much.

At a guess i'd say its because it refers to him being dead at some point!
