Jay Rodriguez - Signs on a 4 Year Deal

I know it would please the fans but i think it's vital we get this signed and sealed ASAP, be it today or tomorrow. The longer we go without him signing the contract, it gives Everton that little bit extra time to try and get cash together (if their apparent interest is genuine) whether a medical here has been successful or not.

I don't think we'll see Lambert and Jay Rod often. I can see it for a few games against more physical sides ie. Stoke etc but I feel they will be rotated like Holt and Morison at Norwich last season. They very rarely played together but they were often rotated.

There will be games where we need 2 upfront with pace + penetration. Rod and Sharp may be more appropriate as Jay can hold it up but also get in behind and Sharp offers that natural goal scoring ability.

However there will be games where teams need to be stretched and are strong in midfield so Lambert will play, drop off into the hole, pull wide etc and then its up to Adkins who he plays alone upfront, be it JR (height in box), Lee (pace + movement) or Sharp (poacher + goalscorer).

Great to have such options though!

Nineteen Canteen was that bloke who allegedly was involved in tryng to take saints over about 5 years ago. He used to post on Saints forever with the same name but some clever bugger on SF found out who he was and outed him. His name was something like Tom McLoughlan or something simular. There will be someone on here who will remember him. This Tom Mcloughlan was an Evertonian if my memory serves me correct.

Tom McLaughlin, director at Air Partners isn't 19c. 19c was as VFTT says.

Sundance Beast, if I recall rightly. Pretty sure they were one and the same.

Definite attention seeker, though also genuinely mentally ill (by his own admission, though to what extent who knows).

19C & Sundance were one and the same and, at the latter stages of his tenure here, he talked about being bipolar and the issues etc.

Don't see it myself. I think Lambert will play whenever he's physically able to. I expect him to start 30+ of our league games.

I wouldn't put it past him as he is physically very fit but I just think keeping Lambert, JR, Sharp & Lee all happy is a big ask. Some games will suit others better.

I don't really care who plays as long as we score loads and win games of football!! It's just great to have 4 such strikers at the club (almost!)....add in Lallana and this is arguably the best group of attackers we have had since MLT, Shearer, Rod Wallace and Rideout....

According to Chris Boden he understands that there is a meeting scheduled for this afternoon.

danbsfc: @bodenknights Do you think Jay would've verbally agreed terms, go have medical and then come back to sign on the line? Possible?

bodenknights: @danbsfc not sure, but meeting scheduled for this afternoon

Arsenal pay proven internationals £55k a week and nobody is going to drive 9 hours every day to get to training. Please tell me this was a wind up.

It's Glasgow Saint

It's a wind up.

Wants 55k PW and will live in Burnley and not relocate to hampshire............

Mark my words if he somehow got £55k a week he'd relocate. Can't see either happening, although huge wages will have to be paid if we want top notch talent.

When Michael Chopra played for Cardiff he lived in Newcastle and had a driver to commute him to training.

Do they? I remember Jos, Cork, Steve and Fox all being at Chilworth Manor Hotel. The first 3 definitely as they tweeted it.

Thats true. I think the players just live in Ocean Village because of the ideal location (i.e. food, drink nearby) and the close proximity to the stadium.

The club puts players up in Ocean Village until they sort themselves out in the area.
they certainly did back in the Lowe days, but did we perhaps sell any of those properties when we were in the mire?

Yep, bumped in to Cork and Fox on their way out to a match as I was going there for a wedding (early part of last season).
